She reminds me of Marylin Manson fans back in the mid to late 90s. Imho, she reminds me a bit Fiona Apple meets Marylin Manson.

She still reminds me of a female lil xan. The way she acts and talks.

My students love her and this is only how I know her.

So we should shut up and our lives are sad just because we don't like the same thing as you and we express our opinion, not even rudely, about it?

Gotcha. :vegas:

no you're sad for jumping on a ridiculous hate bandwagon, unreasonable as always. i knew she'd get more hate from people who don't know her as she grew popular but comparing her to selena's whispering? sis bye

ok bye log off if you can’t take different opinions. :vegas:

Also apparently only you are capable of individual thoughts and everyone else “jumps on a bandwagon” what hate bandwagon is there when this girl is growing popular every day? perhaps there maybe (i know it’s hard for you to fathom this) more than 1 person who don’t like her sound/look/ voice and they want to express that on a forum, not even dedicated to her, where people are supposed to have freedom of expression.

And wow, i’m supposed to be “sad”. :messga:

see i seem to always see this argument pop up in any thread where someone gives an opinion, and it makes me cringe so bad. sweetie, did you just write a whole paragraph to tell me that you're allowed to express an opinion but i'm not allowed to express my opinion of your opinion?

freedom of expression entails that i get to tell you what i think of your opinion, and what i think of it is that it's sad. if you have a problem with that then please refer to your own little paragraph  about freedom of expression.

I think a lot of you forget that most of us are in our 20’s and some even in their 30’s. Billie could be the future of pop. Because it’s not up to us anymore. Our pop queens are from the late 90’s and early 00’s.

Stated correct.

A lot of us may not like her but the 13-20 year olds are now forming the new generation of who’s who in pop like we did with Britney/ Christina/ Ariana/ Gaga

These days I only listen to kpop because there are groups that have that sound and style that I like :emma: and western singers don't right now.

But with Billie... I started loving her with her album. I wasn't interested in her but damn   asians + her and Gaga are going to define part of my high school years

Similarly, i’ve heard this cycle of freedom of speech-criticism brought up again and again. I guess we can go on forever, but let me tell you the difference.  At least I didn’t get so triggered by some other people’s opinion on a pop star, something that’s bound to happen on a pop forum, that they had to turn on condescending mode, calling people “pathetic” and “sad”, trying to place themselves on some pedestal just because they like a certain pop star.

And yeah, I was under the assumption that a paragraph was not too much for you to read. :ohwell:

I love her and she's incredibly talented and creative, but I don't see her as a (future) 'pop star'. She's still going to be famous though (more then she is right now). Such potential.

Harris Walz 2024

Obviously she's representing how alot of younger kids feel. I think that's a good thing. I don't think her lyrics are as sophisticated as Lorde's but her sound is similar so the comparisons are obvious. I think her style is a bit too dark to last in mainstream pop but she can definitely continue to thrive with those she resonates with.
