Billie Eilish the future of pop

Billie Eilish is doing so well because she is ADDING something fresh and exciting and needed to the industry. Seriously, there’s been a few artists in the last decade who have been able to bring something to the table that we haven’t experienced before, and grew a huge fan base from it. Obviously, Gaga. I also believe Lorde and Lana have done the same. And now Billie. I’m excited to see where her career goes from here, but it’s undeniable that she’s talented and her team is killing it. Look up her tour dates, they’re literally ALL sold out. From a debut album. You can’t deny her impact. Thank you for coming to my TEDtalk have a great weekend  xoxo

I think a lot of you forget that most of us are in our 20’s and some even in their 30’s. Billie could be the future of pop. Because it’s not up to us anymore. Our pop queens are from the late 90’s and early 00’s.

Has this girl done anything as interesting as that? Because sitting on top of a man doing pushups is not it.

it is a promo clip. that is like saying the most interesting thing Gaga has done is flip her hair like she did in the Perfect Illusion promo clip. Billie is the most innovative and "interesting" star since Gaga. period

we're talking about 'the future of pop', not the queen of sales or marketing. lorde is here and is trailblazing together with charli xcx. billie eilish wouldn't even exist without lorde - one who has done it so much better than all the other artists who have tried and/or are trying to copy her style in instrumentation and ESPECIALLY vocals. plus lorde can do dark and depth without having to rely on imagery and dark production.

billie is essentially lorde for angsty sheltered kids and people who can't consume subtlety :coffee:

1. I can't believe your just use "the future of pop" and "charli xcx" in the same sentence. I don't know where you live though but Charli isn't even mainstream in the U.S.

2. The future of pop is dependent on sales and marketing. If nobody buys their music, sorry but they aren't the future.

3. Billie and Lorde are not comparable. If billie was just for "angsty sheltered kids" she wouldn't be breaking records. She is mainstream now.

her songs are nice but there's nothing special about her, to be honest. she's literally a rehash of lorde/lana. i dont get the hype

I don't mean this aggressively, I'm just genuinely curious. What did she do to make you say that?

La Rosalia

I’d take Billie over Ariana, Dua Lipa, that Ava Max girl, (the most boring/predictable one), etc
