If you was in this cvlt site during that era, you must have witnessed the mess happening before your eyes :diane:

And probably why @Admin  lost database from those eras, (alone with my post counts :madge:), it was deliberate sksksks  :fan:

I don’t really remember going on this site at all during those eras because I was too busy bedazzling leather jackets and gluing glitter onto seashell bras

Ya, back then lots of users was really hating BTW, the visuals, the videos, the music, her fashion. Because it doesn't sound like TFM. And they said they can't wait for the era to end.  It was a ruckus. :diane:

I wasn't here in those days, but I read sites from those eras and they said that Born This Way wasn't that successful and since then everyone has been waiting for the Promised Album:pray: Is it true?

The lesson here is that we must learn to enjoy the moment :lolly:

Don't get me started on when she revealed the album cover during a random MB show. I was living while the site was dying.

The infamous Judas betrayals :smh:

People were convinced Gaga was doing some things "badly" on purpose because she was reenacting the three betrayals of Judas.

I remember that from ATRL, it was a tough time for The Liddos because defending Gaga during that era on that site was like defending the devil...

Some people actually considered the BTW album to be a commercial disappointment by the end of the era.  It was so ridiculous.  And she was overexposed so there was a negative vibe about her among non-fans. Glad that's over lol.

She was such a rebel. The BTW Era was all our eras. To be 20/21 years old in 2011 was truly the stars aligning for me!

Lol I just turned 15 when it came out

Wait... people actually weren’t here for BTW when it was happening? I only have one friend who didn’t like BTW & then 6 years later he became obsessed with it & nonstop playing it in the bar where he bartenders lmao I don’t get how people could’ve disliked or even hated that era. It was legit her best one & was like a continuation of TFM but evolved.

It was the start of fans being so entitled actually. It was a huge mess. Now the same person misses how big the promo was BTW era and more. :fan:

Oh yeah, totally. As @RAMROD said, it was the start of fans becoming Little Delulus (and, eventually, Little Managers). It was all kind of meta, actually- TFM was so stratospheric, that expectations were all over the place for BTW. And even though BTW was exponentially more successful than BTW in several different ways, it really started to divide fans (and the public). Gaga became so much more political and outspoken in her activism, and her performances got even weirder- suddenly, she was no longer the "cool, weird" girl.

I was 14 around the time it came out, and it's kind of crazy to think how massively different gender, sexuality, and queer conversations were in the mainstream pop world less than a decade ago.

I know lol I was 15 when it came out & it truly did start a gay revolution. People in my school started coming out like crazy (I was already out since I came out at 12 lol) but I never saw the negative impact on the fans. Everyone I listened to BTW with, even my friends who weren’t huge into Gaga ended up loving the album. In fact, my cousin/brothers fav song is Electric Chapel. I mean when that album came out it was unlike anything I ever heard from the hardcore underground beats to the pop rock anthemic melodies to the genuine stimulating lyrics, it legit blew my mind lol but I never knew people were so against it.
