* All Christchurch schools have been put on lockdown

This is one of my fears as a teacher.  What time is it there?

Can you please update us? Probably a better source.

I have only seen “6 dead” but judging by the video I’d say a lot more....

Radio has said " multiple casualties " reports one person has been arrested

guys I watched a part of the vid on accident because of autoplay features. Please avoid it as much as possible and avoid social media for a while...I can't even explain the atrocity that was the first like 3 seconds before i panicked and shut my laptop off. This will leave you traumatized for a while. omg the poor victims :(

This breaks my heart. People are so cruel. It makes me sick. Praying for everyone.  Praying for hate crimes to stop. Praying for more kindness.

I can't believe I am saying that this has become commonplace in our world. I am praying for all victims, and others who may have been affected in any way.

Religion is so harmful and has caused so many wars and bred prejudice and hate in so many ways...

I feel horrible for all the victims involved just trying to worship in peace...

How is religion the problem here?

The problem is xenophobia and racism.

Religion has always been a root cause for these issues tho...and look at the victims, the message, and where this took place...how is religion NOT a factor???

Religion has nothing to do with this! Nothing. Hate is the only reason for this. Sorry but I find it rather inappropriate to talk about how bed the religion is now when people are literally being murdered.

OT I can’t even imagine going in peace to a mosque to pray and having some sick person take your life. This is truly sad and it’s sad how this won’t be described as terrorism only because muslims are the victims here and not the other way around. They will probably say he’s mental and that’s it. Truly sad. I’m praying for those who were affected by this.

Religion is a factor in this specific case, but not a problem.

This white supremacist did this due to xenophobia and racism.

I beg to differ on the first sentence but the second I do agree with but that's why we are on a forum to express different opinions

I just don’t understand your reasoning though. All I see are people peacefully congregating and a white supremacist coming in and killing.

I genuinely don’t see how religion is the issue.

religious people are the victims here, they were slaughtered while praying and you found now is the right time to talk about how religion is harmful or in other words blaming the victim?? think little bit what you are saying.

It's not easy love, but you've got friends you can trust
