Well, this would actually explain a lot. I don't really like to speculate because I don't know what goes on inside but it would make sense if she was rushed to start the era earlier than expected for promo opportunities: VMAs, iTunes Festival, black friday sales... Judging by DJWS' tweets, it looked like Applause was pretty rushed, he was working on the unpitched Cake Like Lady Gaga but suddenly it was time to finish and perfect Applause... I don't wanna blame Troy but his name sure comes to mind when you know that Gaga split with him after so many years. Managers get a pretty big percentage/commission of whatever the artist is doing so if someone (other than at Interscope) wanted her to be more marketable, it was him.

 

It would explain why she released Applause while her hips wasn't fully recovered, why Emma said that no performance had time to be fully rehearsed, why she rushed all those designers at the last minute for the Applause video, why she was still recording ARTPOP like 2 weeks before it came out... Why they presented Volantis in her very first test ride, maybe why the ARTPOP app is not fully accessible yet...

I see everything differently now, when she thanks the designers and photographers, her speech to Stephen Gan of V Magazine makes so much sense now. She must be so thankful to have close relationships like that to make her vision come true at the last minute.

Urgh, seeing fans make the assuption that her ego is in the way of her work must be devastating, ARTPOP being torn everywhere and so much negativity surrounding her. She's just this bundle of love who wants some humanity and excitement where some want marketability. I really hope she gets a team back up and the ride starts up again.

Most song don't need 2 years to be written though so finishing Applause last minute was probaply just her being a perfectionist. It does explain her rather lackluster performances. I hope she gets back to being on point with everything instead of the ups and downs. There is still lots of potential with this album so I can't wait for future videos and performances now.

I have a feeling there might be problem with Terry as well... I hope I'm wrong, but it sounds to me he charged her millions for the shoot, did a crappy job, she hated the end result, they had a bust up over the post production/editing process and he bailed and left her to edit the video all by herself.

I'm glad she's finally talking about it.

There's nothing more horrible than just hush and act like nothing happened....it always gets better at the point when someone realizes that things went wrong.

She seems to be ready to face the situation now.

Of course I support her and love her

 

I guess she's not allowed to talk about what exactly happened, so we'll never know.

 

 

Still it feels like TEOG vídeo all over again and I wonder why is this always happening to Gaga...I mean other popstars are also surrounded by people who only want the $$ but the dates for videos etc can be met.

I feel like Gaga refuses way more than other popstars when a video doesn't represent her vision of the song and she wants to do a lot of things on her own.

That's why someone is getting fired all the time and everything takes so long

But as long as it makes the video better it's okay

ARTPOP era is a mess, it's started out great, and everything falls apart

too much drama in Lady Gaga's inner circle and on GGD

 

I felt like this era is over and ready for next album

but I don't want to give up yet, because I want to see great records released as singles (GUY, Sexxx Dreams, and few others)

The heartlessness in this thread ugh. She finally explains herself but she can't win with you guys. Absolutely no sympathy or empathy for her just the usual bashing when you don't even know everything she's been through. She's human and she can break. She can't be superwomen 100% of her career. 

I normally don't try to retort my thoughts but some of these replies really got to me. I understand how it's like to want to vent and get it off your chest. I bet she's feeling better now letting it all out. Thank god she doesn't read GGD anymore.

My thoughts exactly. Reading her explanation broke my heart. She deserves so much better and she deserves to be happy. Seeing her the way she's been acting is terrifying. The way some of the people on this forum are responding is hideous.
