Is she trying to imply she's basically starting over and that she didn't like releasing Applause, the video, or DWUW as a single? That mistakes were made in the execution of the era? I hope things turn around for her. Well, we all have false starts from time to time. She'll recover, she's a strong woman. I look forward to whatever is coming down the pipe next. I look forward to whatever is coming down the pipe next. so many mistakes, i feel so sorry for her...but its kind of pathetic at this point, she says she doesn't care for the charts and yet goes and releases dwuw as a single instead of venus, she is not consistent with her statements, and this is something i dont respect.. in addition, she acts as if she is the only artist who was bullied, beyonce was bullied about the baby bumb, miley cyrus is over critisized, rihanna is criticized, she needs to chill and let the reviewers and critics do their jobs, ignore them!!! gosh!! just do u gaga and **** what the rest think!! no wonder she has no more social power or anything! she became such a fame obsessed person, she used to just tweet tea cups and cool pics, now shes all philosophyga..****ing annoying and whiny! i love u gaga but u gotta get on ur feet and **** what the rest think! I'm sure they wanted a commercial album, with a commercial approach, but she wanted it her way--which is fine, but hard to sell in a business that is desperately holding onto every cent it makes. As for the betrayals, I wonder if there were issues between her and Terry (since he directed the video). It obviously exists, and should be done, but for whatever reason someone higher up does not approve and won't approve it; so it's either very edgy, or it commercial enough for her bosses. It could also be that they want her to lose R. Kelly and push the single with Christina in his place, but honestly I think it's too late for the song since it's been out for so long. One new verse doesn't drastically alter its relevance. Either way, Gaga is clearly having creative issues with her label now that she split with her manager--let's just hope they don't overreact and drop her (it is always a possibility). I agree that she should have free reign over her creativity, but Troy did help filter those ideas into good, marketable ones. And in her business, it may be her work, but she is still under contract to make the money, which may be in a way she isn't fond of. I think that with this album she is try very hard to take on an artistic role that is not helping her musical image, and therefore her label wants her to stop it, and focus on the music not the art. I love Gaga to death, but she did have a better image when she was all about her music and nothing else. I hope it all works out, and she gets back to her happy place, but this effectively feels like she will let DWUW finish its course, and release the next single with an appropriate video when she's ready. Except that she's spoken out about that culture of negativity and criticism in general, not just toward her. I'm sorry but from a design standpoint, her statement couldn't be more wrong. In the real world, artists/designers could have HOURS to create something presentable. When I assembled the fan books it took 50 hours, very little sleep/food/etc but I got it done in no more than a week. You get a project, you're expected to finish it within the deadline or you get fired. If I said that to a future boss, I'd be laughed at in the face and shown the door. I get that she's stressed etc but what is this, day 3 of this stuff? Doll, let it go. She needs to shed this dead skin and go for it, no more feeling sorry or this crazy talk! True. But she wants to be the boss over her own career and art, and to do that she needs to be allowed to set the deadlines. I wouldn't say it was a mistake, just that it may have been... premature? Or even just incredibly discombobulated, which was more likely. Starting with Applause, she had this huge momentum going: early release, music video, VMA's performance, Swinefest, GMA, then there was a dip. It wasn't that bad, and it still kept the momentum going, considering she was a) finishing the album, and b) probably preparing for Venus. After the Venus/DWYW debacle, things kinda got astray. I mean, it wasn't bad, per se - we got London, SNL, Japan promo and appearances, and London again with the Jingle Ball. It was just very apparent that things got... shifted.
