She's reclaiming her mind, spirit, and soul through a funky, R&B, pop track. It goes along with saying F U to the media and the message of ARTPOP "**** you pop music, this is ARTPOP!" It's funny because the whole "do what you want with my body" part I had to explain to the general public I know. They thought it was so objectifying and I was like, sure, it could be seen that way but listen to the other lyrics about not letting others take one's heart and mind. I dunno, I dig DWUW and still listen to it. Solo, Christina, remixes, etc. If R.Kelly wasn't such a problematic person, the video probably could have been hella progressive and bizarrely affirming (kind of like the visceral SXSW performance of Swine) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
