If she claims she has been abused everybody should take that seriously and not try to attack her character because she was abusive in the past. It's not a good thing to do to use someone's previous wrongdoings against them. I'm sure we've all done stupid **** when we were young. Also the alledged abuse was female on female. I'm not negating the seriousness of that but in this instance it's man on female abuse and she was his wife at the time. His mother dying was the alledged catalyst towards his alcoholic abuse and behaviour so obviously his exes wouldn't say he was violent, because his mother died while he was with Amber and it is her death that alledgedly sent him off the rails. I'm actually not defending this girl. Nor am I defending him. I've said already I'm not on any side. I just don't feel it's right for randomers on the internet to talk like they know all the facts. She may have possibly lied but this thread pretty much accuses her of doing it like it's fact. You can look at her past and say she has a history of abuse so therefore is an abuser. But an intelligent person would realise that people are more complex, they don't just hit a person because they are a well known hitter. Yes I do get that. I'm not saying they wouldn't. It's the flippant attitudes from people who just assume she's a manipulative girl crying wolf, that I don't like. Just because she was the one being accused of it in the past doesn't mean Johnny Depp couldn't have abused her. She was found to be the victim so it's not right for people to be going "aha she lied!" which is pretty much what this thread is. Johnny Depp is the one accusing her of lying and it doesn't mean it's true. He hasn't won yet so we shouldn't assume it's true until/if he does. She provided evidence of him being verbally and physically abusive too, her actions don't make his any better and his actions don't make hers any better. It's important to remember in the wake of all these fake stories lately that it's not a matter of being immediately dismissive of victim's stories but perhaps we should start exercising more caution and shouldn't feel afraid to speak up if we think something's amiss. Amber does look like the kind of twisted, manipulative bitch who would seduce a guy and frame him for her own gain. Johnny Depp has many flaws, but being an abuser is not one of them. I think I even remember his ex Vanessa Paradis saying that Johnny would never do that and that he's not that kind of person. What pisses me off the most is that stories like this make it harder for actual victims of domestic violence to speak up because they'll fear people won't believe them.
