And she used her more acoustic 2014+ voice in that song and it's so good and fits so well. :diane:

"New voice" Gaga haters found quaking in a ditch. I'm gonna get hate for this but her singing in the IWYL cover is much better than that on most of The Fame.

OT: Her voice is perfect for literally so many genres, it's crazy. She doesn't and can't do every style. But what she does do, she kills it.

I wish we lived in an alternate universe where that song was one of hers

I mean, I do think the Tom Ford version was superior (esp. vocally, actually) but :chica: I completely agree.

Her whole studio including all its equipment found in a ditch with water spilled all over the modular system. :teehee:

Edit: Just listened to that version again. It definitely sounds more authentic. She's having more fun with the song (rather than just having fun with singing - if that makes sense - and doing vocal stuff). That's also cause the studio version is a lot more produced. I do miss some of that stuff in this one. I see she did recycle some of the harmonies.

I wouldn’t mind so long as it doesn’t sound too dated and her voice sounds like it does in The Cure

I think disco is gonna sound dated intrinsically. It's the dance and nostalgia that'll make it "cool" for people. People have sort of accepted that Gaga music is almost always anachronistic. We got Shallow becoming such a big hit which sounds like nothing contemporary out there. Joanne was that way. ARTPOP was. Born This Way sounded decades old. The Fame was a modern twist on 80s pop.

As for her voice, personally I don't think The Cure would fit a disco song well. Maybe 1 or 2 bops on the album with soft singing that can be cute hits but she is gonna have belty stuff.

Remember how she didn't even let this song have a full 24 hours of attention because Shallow just came out as well :grr:

BTW could be released tomorrow and it would still sound fresh.

Agree. She has one of the most versatile voices I've ever heard. She's truly a chameleon in every sense of the word.
