I missed last time they came around. I know you love jazz... Can you imagine the disgrace if a jazz singer lip synced lol? It would never occur though because it's completely against the very nature of the music.
Ronk 14,719
Omg I just noticed in that Charlie Puth video I posted in this thread, the two times he held his arm forward was on the words "I'll be there to save the day". Mighty Mouse held his arm forward during the words "Here I come to save the day". I live outside the space time continuum.

And i am almost sure that this one is prerecorded... even if this is my favorite performance of all time.. It was live. The mic had autotune.

I make videos of dozens of jazz concerts live. Have front row seats for Fleetwood Mac, as I do for all the concerts I attend, so I can make videos with an unobstructed view. I can't get front row for Ariana so I won't go unless a seat frees up between now and the concert. Inb4, I'm too picky. I live outside the space time continuum. Besides lip sync needs tracks and a jazz singer can never tell if the band will go rogue and start trading 8's for twenty minutes lol.

And of course the singer improvises, too. Ever notice that Tony never phrases a song exactly the same way twice? He's true to the jazz tradition of improvisation. He doesn't like to rehearse because he wants his improvisations to be fresh and what he is feeling at the moment. My dad played in the big bands, and when Tony performed in Pittsburgh my dad was in the band that backed him up. I live outside the space time continuum. rumours 45,521
Having an artist lip sync everything is no better than playing the song at home through a good set of speakers. If I’m getting the same (or arguably better) experience, why not just choose the cheaper option? 9 minutes ago, Ronk said: And of course the singer improvises, too. River 112,452
If that guy from the chainsmokers had the balls to sing live at the VMA, everyone must sing live, there's no excuses. They are singers, not dancers, if I wanted to see a dancer I would go the a dancing show. Pop music iss already having a cheap reputation and those artists are adding more fuel to this fire. Come on and wrap that blade of grass around my hairy ass

Yes, it's a shame to go to a concert to see lip sync. Friends wonder why I go to concerts at all because I have to drive for hours, stay at a motel, and pay for the ticket, when I could just buy a DVD. I try to explain that there is no substitute for a live experience. There is so much ambience and emotion at the concert. I try to capture some of that with my videos, but you really have to be there. Where did you see Tony? I saw Tony & Gaga at Woodstock. I live outside the space time continuum. diamondheartxx 176
It's for major vocalists to lip sync like 2 songs in a show, because what a lot of ppl don't understand is that it's literally unhealthy to sing for 2-3 hours straight, your voice needs rest but for someone like britney who lipsyncs everything, i can't support

I agree, they should sing live. I think relatively few artists lip sync. The guy from the chainsmokers sang live when I saw them in Philadelphia: I live outside the space time continuum.
