Gaga needs to record with her band

Gaga has a great band full of talented musicians and arrangers.   They always make great arrangements for the live shows.    I know it's rare for pop stars, but I'd love for Gaga to start using her band as true collaborators musically, rather than relying on outside producers and musicians for everything,   I know that would be rare for a pop star, but of course its traditional operating procedure for rock bands, and Bruno always treats the Hooligans as a complete part of his work.

I mean, it's quite common in Gaga tours for the interludes to be the most musically interesting part of the show.

This is the best version of ARTPOP.  IMO her live productions are usually superior, and not by a small amount, over the recorded versions.  I'd love that energy on the original recordings.

 I 100% agree - her band is EXCELLENT live. They really breathe new life into songs I've heard hundreds of times

I don't think it's "her" band because I've seen her guitarists on Anti World Tour.. but yes they are great

I don't know about recording with them, but I definitely wish she'd use them more during tours. The interludes they do between songs are always so beautiful, I really wish they'd do the main backing for songs rather than just the exact same studio versions she's used for a decade now.

At the start of Enigma when they play that really nice warped/alien sounding intro for Just Dance and then... bam straight to the boring studio version:madge: Would make such a difference if they just continued that instrumental through the whole song.

Would love to see that.  Her band rules.

Also, the words "her band" in the op reminded me of:

honestly. I rarely listen to the studio version cause her live audio is 100x better

I thought they already do this. I think for the "formal" tour, they wil' out when given the space to do so ( interludes) but I feel, that maybe, they (this incl Gaga and MD Michael Bearden) feel, that venues like Coachella and Vegas, they can be more unrestricted and experimental.

Side note: I forgot which song they drop the G Thang intro but it gets me HYPE AF!:awesome:

I agree! Shallow is the closest thing to this, since in a way it's a band-recorded song, being produced by Gaga and another audio mixer and not an actual producer and being recorded live.

I disagree. I don’t like how dry the instruments sound compared to the studio versions. Especially the drums. Acoustic drums can’t compete with the power of an electronic drum machine.

For instance, Scheibe and Heavy Metal Lover have thick, juicy, sledgehammer beats, but live they would rarely sound that heavy. No Doubt is a great example of this. While their drummer is talented, their equipment was awful. Hella Good sounded totally unexciting with those wimpy kicks and dry, weak snares. It didn’t make me wanna dance at all because of the lack of power.

Compare that to Born This Way, or Venus, which use a drum machine. Those songs were far more aggressive and energetic because of the equipment used. I totally want to dance when those songs come up. As a fan of electronic dance music, intensity and power are really important to maintain and live instruments almost never capture that danceability and energy.

Electronic drums can replicate those sounds while giving extra life to the sound through human variability and instinct.

She should only work with RedOne, that's it.

I live for this version of ARTPOP. Hands down one of her best performances during the era. I wish their was a studio version of this one.
