Gaga & MJ's Legacy

Here is a report summarizing the notorious documentary, "Leaving Neverland," that is in full on HBO. WARNING: it does contain explicit details of child sexual & emotional abuse.

My question is: Do you guys think that Gaga will speak out about/support MJ's accusers? She has no responsibility to of course, but we all know she idolized the late superstar and even collected many of his tour outfits to preserve. However, the chilling documentary's public reception has been pretty harsh. In my opinion, the accusations are far too detailed and it is our responsibility to believe the four young men who have now collectively told their stories of abuse.

We already have 2 threads about this and both of them have been extremely messy. Both sides with their own arguments.

No need for another one

I don't want her to say anything about it. No need to give a dishonest fantasy any kind of merit or attention.

He wad innocent, that's a fact that won't be changed. Life goes on.

I really think mentioning it would cut the "back to the top" buzz going on with her, and as much as i believe Gaga is an empathic, organic person, she still has to think the best for her in the end of the day.

Personally speaking there's something in this guys i don't buy, but i'm just an easy judger, and at the same time i wouldn't jump head first and say it's false when there's the probability of child abuse in the other end of the line, that's delicate, definitely not a black and white issue.

Professionally, I don't think she should mention it and it's not her job

Personally, as in if we were personal friends, I would want to hear her take, but still not an apology for her support.

One of them participated in MJ VMA Tribute in 2009. He was 31 at the time.

I just wonder how you can praise and participate in the tribute of "your sexual abuser" when you're 31. He claims he only understood that it's sexual abuse in 2012? Like what?.....

Let's please not drag Gaga into this. We've had enough controversy.

Please stop. Gaga also only realized multiple years later that her experience was rape. She used to think that was normal.

Many people at a university in the US were sexually harassed by a doctor and only recently came forward. They used to think all of that happened to them was normal until others spoke up.

People who live with trauma experience complex stuff that you shouldn't dismiss just because it doesn't make sense to you.

That is not true.

Where did Gaga say thought that rape was normal?

"I didn't tell anyone for, I think, seven years. I didn't know how to think about it. I didn't know how to accept it. I didn't know how not to blame myself, or think it was my fault. It was something that really changed my life. It changed who I was completely. It changed my body, it changed my thoughts."

Yes, this, and also this decade has been a great leap in spreading the idea of body and mental acceptance, we had BTW for that matter

Yet again i reinforce what i said

The two guys, them specifically, don't convince me, but there has been more claims and i'm not him to say i didn't do it, and if he wasn't a famous person we'd probably accept the claim and no issue with that

consider if Gaga had done something like this

That's semantics, @derpmonster said she thought it was something that happened to her because of her fault, that she didn't have the right to speak out about it because she would be complaining about something she asked for, that's the feeling of ptsd

Also, the part you quoted Gaga, that's what the guy could have thought too, you see?

we aren't pointing fingers at Michael Jackson, it's ok to like his music and his impact, as long as nothing is confirmed, but since we are walking on eggshells here i don't think it's wise to defend him, judges and lawyers study years to do their right job, don't worry.

Well read again what she said

That's why i said it's semantics bro

The study of meaning

what you say vs what you mean

either you don't know implicitness or you don't want to, and that's not fair in a debate, it's twisting words

i'm sorry guy, i don't want to offend you, but i think it would be better for you to be safe.

If, let's just say if, and i assume that's a 0,0000000...1% chance for you, If the case is confirmed, you won't pass as a child abuse supporter, because then people would do the very same thing : twist your words

That's not how it works.

I am simply asking for a LITTLE bit of evidence before we start accusing people of such horrible things. Not even evidence, maybe even a little bit of consistency?

If this guy came out of the blue and made the accusations I would've given him the benefit of the doubt. But this is someone who has testified under oath, voluntarily participated in his tribute dancing to his songs after his death (mind you he was 31 at the time). 3 years later (2012), he files a lawsuit for money and claims he didn't know it was child abuse until now?

That doesn't sound convincing to me. I'll wait until there are credible allegations.

if you haven't already just give up on this. The person you're trying to convince is completely delusional and offensive.
