Let It Go VS Shallow

I have been trying to remember the last time a soundtrack song had been popular, and I think it was Let It Go from Frozen.

Now, to me, that song wasnt exactly radio friendly...maybe radio Disney, but the cringy lyrics and the song actually mentioning her icy powers and what not, it wasnt a typical mainstream song. It was made for children, in a children's musical.

So why did radios play it every other song? It wasnt the popular sound back then, but I heard is CONSTANTLY here in the US.

Now, I understand how big the movie was, but that doesnt exactly translate to music. Black Panther was the biggest US film last year, and it had an amazing soundtrack. Didnt hear much of those songs on the radio?

I think my point here is, US radio really hasnt liked Gaga since 2013. Applause was the last song they gave a true shot. Now I know, "We've been knew, sis." But, how is that fair? People obviously want to hear the song, they like the song. Why continue to not play it? A smash is a smash?

I know Radio is kind of a dying format, thank God, but I think its shitty that they can just decide to stop playing someone because they felt like it.

At least in the US, Let it Go was bigger though. I remember that song was literally the plague that would not go away.

Exactly. A #1 vs a #5 song? Like?

Let It Go is a fantastic song. Shallow is more acclaimed and successful though (SOTY and ROTY noms, #1 peak)

Let it go only reached #1 in South Korea while Shallow has reached #1 in 18 countries...

*Idina i was joking lol Sia gets played too and she‘s over 40 so i think it‘s just a coincidence. If there was some new female singer in her mid-thirties who has a big hit she‘d get that ava max, ariana grande airplay too. Idk what radio‘s deal with shallow is and it‘s apparently only in the us too

the only reason why let it go feels bigger is because it's a ''kids songs'' lol... let it go is kinda like Baby shark, it's ''tanking'' in the charts but it gets a lot of youtube views and a lot of people know about it.

My phone auto corrected, trust me, I know her name. My fiance is obsessed with her.

Yeah, it's just US radio.

Right, I'm just comparing radio performance in the US.
