Benji 20,113
I had no part in it but it’s pretty funny It’s Stan twitter, if people wanna be upset with Stan twitter there are way bigger problems to address than a little joke to encourage people to stream the song. Also, the fake ad that was made was CLEARLY a joke. If anyone was gullible enough to seriously believe it, they should probably have supervision on the internet. Lucas 24,876
I think the person who created that didn't expect it to be such a big thing and didn't expect some people to believe in it, just a little joke that people would forget the next day
LaLa 19,265
The thing is, everyone here and most people on Twitter know it's just jokes. And it is funny. As long as it stays within fandom. But the moment it blows up to the outside media is the moment it stops being funny and becomes embarrassing. Because everyone here knows what a massive achievement this #1 is for Gaga. After all this time, with NO radio support and amazing pure sales, it's something else. But to some random person scrolling Buzzfeed, who still hears 'Gaga' and thinks 'meat dress', they are going to see this and think 'oh, guess she can't get a #1 without antics'. And no, that's not the end of the world, but it's why I always kinda cringe when stuff like this happens. Twitter stans need to learn to keep it cool, jezzus. OBEY 57,109
tbh what's not funny is fans spamming Spotify's twitter saying they didn’t get their "price". Like, there's people who are running the twitter accounts and their job is already shitty, don’t make it worse. These are real people behind those accounts. SharkmanthaC 111,733
When I first saw it I didn’t think it was real. I didn’t look at the ad closely, but agree with everyone now that it looked fake. But if anyone questioned it, they could have done like I did, and go directly to Starbucks or Spotify’s twitter. Since the offer didn’t come directly from them, it was obviously fake. Plus if it were real, I would have heard about it here first. she/her/hers
LateToCult 40,286
It’s also not as serious as some of you are making it out to be. Like, I had already forgotten about this. Nobody will give a sh*t next week so why are you guys hung up on it?

Starbucks , ASIB, and Spotify get to decide if their brands have been harmed by this, or if they want restitution for the costs they expended fending off the claims. It's a weekend, their corporate attorneys probably haven't even seen it yet. My only reason for posting is to try to get people to realize that this is wrong and there could be consequences. So , don't do it again. Not accusing anyone specifically of doing anything. Make a different joke that doesn't involve an ad/offer, jeez.

Gaga4stef 112
As i posted in the other thread: victim shaming or blaming is not a valid defense. It makes you look like bullies when you try to blame innocent people for your actions. The whole thing is messy and reflects badly on Gaga. No respect. latina twilight 2,319
I found all of this funny at first when it was an inside joke kinda. But it got too far, and the worst part is that those people are not interested really in that #1 or smth, they only want likes and viral tweets to feel powerful inside the stan community for God knows what reason. "YOU USED TO BE SO KIND, I NEVER KNEW YOU HAD SUCH A DIRRTY MIND".

That literally makes no sense.
