Should LG6 Be A Collection Of Gaga’s 3 acclaimed Genres?

Gaga started off her career as a Dance-pop icon, adding 5 Grammys to her name. Then, for a shorter period of time, she because an acclaimed jazz artist, scoring another Grammy. Most recently, Gaga has been awarded 3 Grammys for her newest excursion in the country-ballad realm. So, my question is, should Gaga’s next album be a collection of these past genres, as sort of a recap album? Or should she continue her trip with country-ballads, or maybe explore new primary genres/forms of music?

(I know some of y’all will say she should make a full dance-pop record but let’s be honest, it ain’t happening) :ally:

I would love an 80's styled synth-funk-rock themed album.

Something like this:

Or she should release 3 albums in a row.

I would faint if she did that, especially if she released them all at the same time. We all know which would get #3 on 200 that week, poor C3C. :pole:

I’m here for Gaga to release an album with no lead single but with videos prerecorded for all the songs. Let the public pick which song they like best and then release it to radio and release the video. Her team continues to fail at picking singles before the album is released (Judas vs. TEOG, Venus vs. DWUW, AYO vs. MR, INLA vs. Shallow). I’m so happy Shallow was able to still become a huge hit despite her team not planning for it to be the lead.

Shallow was planned to be the lead all along? It was in the trailer’s climax, it was used multiple times in the movie, released quite literally as the lead of the soundtrack, and the story of the song is basically the synopsis of the movie. Why do you think INLA was supposed to be the lead or hit of the movie? Also her team didn’t decide the singles, that’s all WB and Bradley’s doing I’m sure.

In interviews, Bradley stated that the scene where Ally sings INLA is the moment when the star is truly born. Additionally, on iTunes, INLA was promoted under the Best of the Week section when the soundtrack and movie were released. That section is normally reserved for singles and tracks that the promotional team wants to highlight. I believe there might have been some reports about radio stations being ready to play INLA, but I’m less positive about that.

Edit: Also, an Interscope executive reported to a new outlet that releasing Shallow a week before the movie was due to unexpected demand for the song. So, the release of Shallow was not planned for the week before the movie, but I’m sure happy it happened.

ARUTW was also promoted and reported to be put on the radio as well, and actually I think ARUTW is more popular than INLA.

I mean I think it’s hard to deny the importance of Shallow to the movie, even if it wasn’t as big as it is now. They knew what they were doing by putting it in the trailer and spreading it out through the whole movie. There’s no way the didn’t predict it would be the centerpiece of the movie and therefor receive the most buzz and such.

ARUTW was not promoted on the Best of the Week section of iTunes.

I agree that Shallow is THE most important song of the film. However, before the public chose Shallow as its favorite song from ASIB, I think that INLA had just as big of a chance to be the biggest musical moment. It’s the end song that leaves the crowd in tears on their way out. It’s the last impression you get before you go home (and download the soundtrack haha).

If you’re interested, you should read this article from October. It talks about the release of Shallow being a last minute decision.

no. this combination concept is confusing, could end up being messy very easily, and is not progressive. stick to a genre and cut deep.

I’d only be here for electronic music. That’s what got me into her in the first place and that’s the most iconic version of her.
