How can radios get away with boycotting Shallow?

If Shallow becomes #1 Monday. It's really weird that it's song that is played by NO Pop radio stations in America.

This is literal boycott. I can understand them not playing non-hit songs. But really? Not playing the #1 song in the country? Is Gaga the new Dixie Chicks for Pop Radios or something and why?

The Dixie Chicks were boycotted by radios due to crazy republicans spamming radios with calls asking for them to be blacklisted because of their opposition to Bush. Britney was boycotted because she refused to let the company that owned most radios its concert promotion service.

But what did Gaga do?

I almost feel so tempted to call one of the stations on Monday and roast them for not playing the #1 song in the country.

They’re just afraid that Gaga’s belting vocals in Shallow will cause mass traffic accidents due to the slayage :gaycat:

It’s okay US radios, it won’t........so please start playing it!

Lady Gaga is a legend and you will deal with it

No one’s boycotting Shallow. It’s just that it’s not being requested. If you request it, then it will be played. Not immediately, but later in the day it will. And nobody listens to radio anymore.

They’re just jealous that they’re too shy to belt out a future Billboard Hot 100 #1 hit! :gaycat:

Really? It has been the best selling song for months. And it's not being requested? If anything soccer moms and older people are the ones who still listen to radios. So if anything, Shallow should be more often.

Pop radio stations are the worst. 95% of their airtime is ads, so I guess they just don't have room for Shallow.

To be quite fair, Shallow (while pop) is not really like the other things on pop radio stations right now. They played TC, so I'm sure it's nothing personal.
