How Gaga promoted ASIB and Enigma prep

Just came across this on Twitter. It’s a great interview with LeRoy Bennett. He discusses stage design, the concept for Enigma, and lots of other things!

and for those LG6 thoughts:

Are there any plans to possibly switch things up or rearrange the shows as time goes on?

By the end of this year, we'll see where we're at and where her head's at. Fortunately, there are big breaks between the different runs. So, if you're only doing three and a half weeks of the same show, and then you've got three of four months off, you have gotten enough time when you come back where it seems fresh again. It doesn't become stale. Definitely through the year, I don't think there would be anything she wants to change. Once we get into next year, we'll see.

Even if there aren’t new set pieces or costumes, she could still add new songs if she drops a single in summer or fall!

I can see why you would say that, it's like a greatest hits when we're thirsty for more ASIB era Gaga.  The glamour and class and talent. :giggle:

I mean it does get kinda stale when you just got off a greatest hits tour a.k.a. The Joanne Ball and now you’re doing a greatest hits residency...:poot:

That was a really cool read, thanks! I feel like this guy just spilled so many details, I'm kinda surprised at his candor honestly!

I found this part especially interesting:

"Was there ever a point where you, Gaga and her team thought maybe you should wait to do the Vegas shows until after the hype of A Star Is Born died down?"

"No. We knew that it just had to happen. I could be speaking out of turn, but I don't think they realized the amount of time the studio was going to demand of Gaga in promoting the film. Unfortunately, it did. It definitely took her focus off more than we had hoped, but we pulled it together."

I wonder if this is because the movie ended up being bumped from May, and then pulled into Awards Season. They probably weren't really anticipating that, but they did do a great job of rolling with it in the end.

I mean I don't wanna boast about it, and I feel very lucky that God gave me the resources to be able to see the show in person, but I just wanna say that, if you attend the show in person, it's probably the most psychedelic concert experience any artist has ever offered, and trust me when I say I have attended a lot of shows by major international artists.

I would even say it's the best concert experience I have ever had. I feel like the reason a lot of people don't hold the same opinion is because the show, so far, has quite a limited run, only 11 shows have been performed and 2 of them are Jazz & Piano.

There are very few videos which are properly shot that showcase her dancing, vocals and lighting which do them justice. All of these combined and witnessed live were probably the most surreal and unbelievable experience I ever had and no other show even managed to be near Enigma's league, in my opinion.

Yes. The jazz and piano show? That's what's in her soul. That is her. And that's what she does best. She does both of them amazing, but the jazz show is her passion. She said after the first show, "I could do this every day, all night." Hopefully, we'll figure out a way for her to do more jazz shows. It may not be in the same venue. It's tough to turn around that show overnight. It's tough on the crew. They try to leave as much as they can, but there is still a large amount that does get pulled out. When they're going between Enigma and the jazz show and then back to Enigma, it's hard. The first jazz show, the guys didn't sleep for 48 hours. It was pretty intense.

Respect for the crew who switch up and build the stages night after night

Wow, this guy did TMB2.0 as well. He knows what he's doing. Gaga knows what she's doing. She wasn't satisfied with a smaller TMB1.0 which wasn't as conceptually tied together as she wanted, so she did what she had to. She will continue to amaze us. I think they'll produce great things together.

Same, but only because I watched the first few livestreams, watched the videos a lot, and perform Paparazzi and Aura on my imaginary world tour in my room. :spin:

This mutual gaze was a “longing to touch” or a "pre-coitus" stare.
