I'm guilty of everything," he said by phone.  "I am an idiot," he continued. The more people around during a crisis there's less of a chance of someone stepping in, everyone assumes someone else will take care of it. Knowing me and my anxiety I would have done the same thing, awkwardly laughed and frozen.
