The Oscar vocals were a little...shaky :ally:

They both looked nervous to me, especially Bradley. That could be why.

Probably. They got 2 standing O's so my opinion doesn't matter :vegas:

Everyone is entitled to their opinions but I'm surprised the Grammys got like 25% of the votes

That head bopping and hair wipping was awkard and cringey AF :rip:

Honestly, I was a little underwhelmed with tonight’s performance. They brought the song up in octave, causing Gaga to strain her voice, thus causing the bridge to be more subdued. I was so excited for it :noparty:

I don't think it was higher. Gaga just has a hard time with the shallow vocals. She's an amazing vocalist, but she's not perfect.

She sounded like she had a cold! I noticed during her acceptance speech. Why did she go to Mexico so close to the Oscars, she got too tan and deadass got a cold I’m :toofunny:

I'm making a very confident prediction... In other words, unshockingly, I think I am right.:huntyga:

Gaga's vocal coach recommended her to use her nasal tone a lot more as it may make the higher notes ("meet" in particular) easier to hit. They also told her to disconnect her notes so that if something slips up, the mess up isn't too apparent. I don't think Gaga was nervous, she was very prepared. What we saw was a different vocal tone and one minor slip up at the second "meet" note (the same place she slipped up on the Grammy's but her team edited it out). :triggered:

Bradley, on the other hand, that man was a nervous wreck. :messga:

Overall, I'm surprised. Seeing how her other two Oscar performances were all but impeccable vocally, I figured Gaga would've just trained, practiced, and rested her voice so that 1. she would be able to sing in her natural tone 2. hit the notes with ease

I'm not mad - our girl just became an Oscar winner, but I'm confident that, aside from the high she is feeling for becoming an Oscar winner, that Queen Gagz isn't necessarily proud of her performance, but I think she accepts it. There was nothing terrible about it, but she knows that she and her instrument are capable of perfection, and tonight wasn't that. :laughga:

Putting vocals aside, tonight was amazing and I'm SO not trying to take away from the great achievement she made. :firega:

I actually kind of blame the Oscars microphones/mix for the raw sounding vocals. Even JHud didn’t sound her best, there needed to be some reverb on those mics! The vocals sounded disconnected from the music!

Tonight's performance felt special to me. It felt like Bradley and Gaga were truly in the moment and savoring how massive and iconic Shallow has become.  I voted it for that reason!

They are all amazing for their own reasons!

I didn't know the multicam video from Engima would spoil me for the Oscars but thats my own fault!

If the movie version even in an option, duh. But I also ADORE the acoustic solo version from the BTS of ENIGMA

I mean everyone was raving over the performance. I thought her vocals were fantastic, it's just I've heard her even better in the past. But I wouldn't call it shaky, even if it wasn't her best.
