Revenue is so far $10 Billion more than expected. Honestly I find it funny that Americans always look at Canada's Healthcare to try to figure out what Universal Healthcare looks life Canada is not the best example of free healthcare as many countries in Europe have more coverage than we do. Contrary to common belief among Americans not everything is free here, there's a lot of segments in healthcare that we have to pay out of our own pocket or have insurance for - Dental - Vision Care - Pharmaceuticals/Medications - Chiropractors - Some types of unique treatments - Vaccinations that are by choice (I got Hepatitis A vaccine before going to Dominican Republic and I had to pay for it) All that stuff I listed is privatized not payed by government. In fact Canada's Healthcare is about 70% government funded. So about 1/3 is payed for privately either from your own pocket or an insurance Even small little stuff the government sometimes finds a way not to pay by what it categorises as what. My mom had a bad cyst in her arm that kept getting infected and the Doctor said it was considered cosmetic surgery because the removal of the cyst from the skin wasn't life threatning. So she had to pay like $300 to get it removed They are also starting to add fees to everything that used to be free. In most cases you now have to pay a $50 fee or so when you go to your family doctor to get a sick note for work. I'm so glad my work doesn't demand them cuz I get the flu and colds like all the time I have health insurance from work that covers 80% of medical costs not covered by government Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
