Ariana Grande Not Attending Grammys After Disagreements With Producers

Grande felt “Insulted” after producers initially refused to allow her to perform “7 Rings,” the latest single from her forthcoming album “Thank U, Next” (which arrives Friday, two days before the Grammys). A comprise was reached whereby “7 Rings” would be part of a medley, but  Grande pulled out after producers insisted that the second song be of their choosing. The source added that such stipulations were not imposed on other performers at the show. Reps for the Grammys did not immediately respond to Variety‘s requests for comment.

well the grammys line up this year seems like a snooze. camila opener, no ariana. only saving grace is a rumoured gaga performance for me

I’d be insulted too. It’d be like them not letting Gaga perform her #1 Born This Way and instead perform the song she was nominated for in 2011. The Grammys don’t even help push your single that well anymore anyway so id skip it

This is like the Appluse VMA mess. Award show producers need to understand that not allowing artists freedom for their performances is what’s making award shows so boring post 2010.

No, Gaga performed Speechless in 2010 and Joanne (WDYTYG) in 2018 before it was even nominated.

Wtf why would they do that? 

She is the biggest thing in the world rn, that songs number 1, and she could really pull in ratings, and they shot their own foot by telling her what to do. I’d be insulted, it’s like the awards saying your art isn’t good enough to be performed
