Lykke Li - So Sad So Sexy
My favorite album last year together with Golden Hour. Lykke went with a different sound on her fourth album. Dark pop music with trap influences. If you like Melodrama I think you will like this one. It's time people stop sleeping on it. My fave tracks are Hard Rain, Deep End, Bad Woman and the title track, but literally every song is amazing imo.

Sarah Klang - Love In The Milky Way
Had her debut last year. Hasn't yet had her international break trough but is very popular here in Sweden. Her sound is pop/americana/country kinda. Just a couple of days ago she released her new single "Call Me", inspired by my favorite movie Call Me By Your Name. That song has a nice lush 80's production. Kinda ABBA. But I highly recommend the album as well.

Banks - The Altar
Dark electronic music with good lyrics. Talks about depression, heartbreak but also self empowerment. My faves from this album are Lovesick, F*ck With Myself and Poltergeist (the song Zedd sampled smh)

also albums that already been mentioned like: Dirty Computer, Heard It In a Past Life, Robyns album, Rihanna

Hyperballad

Alizée - Gourmandises

R-2241399-1462967314-6584.jpeg.jpg

’Gourmandises’ is like a mixture between addictive pop and creative and provocative lyrics :D

it contains her biggest hit ‘Moi... Lolita’. Which is based on the book ‘Lolita’ by Vladimir Nabokov. This was released when she was only fifteen.

Another personal favorite is ‘Gourmandises’. Based on Little Red Riding Hood (except a deeper analysis of the song reveals its about very... creepy and explicit things :emma:

Another recommendation isn’t an album but a greatest hits by French superstar Mylène Farmer.

Mylène Farmer - Les mots

R-6340717-1416860574-3487.jpeg.jpg

The album includes her hits from 1984 to 2000. Alot of her songs are ear worms and are influenced heavily by art and literature :) Some standouts include

‘Mamán a tort’ - her debut single about a young girl speaking about her love for a female nurse in the style of a nursery rhyme

‘Je t’aime mélancolie’ - speaks about liking to see the negative instead of the positive. A very sarcastic song also denouncing criticism about her style. Very dark lyrics but with a cheerful tune

’C’est une belle journée’ - deals with the topic of suicide. The song like the previous, has a very cheerful and sweet tune but... a very dark meaning. The title ironically translates to ‘It’s a Beautiful Day’. The original line in the chorus was actually ‘C’est une belle journée, je vais me tuer’ or ‘It’s a Beautiful Day, i’m going to kill myself’ :toofunny:

‘Effets secondairés’ - (Secondary Effects) based on Nightmare On Elm Street. It tells of Mylène not being able to sleep due to a medication or drugs. She claims to be seeing Freddy Krueger, which is also keeping her up :air:

if you cant understand her lyrics, here is a site where i think you can find translations to certain languages :)

I didn’t mention all Gaga’s albums because that seemed obvious:huntyga:

But just to clarify, all gaga albums > every other album:firega:

Also already listened to Femme Fatale and Rihanna’s albums and loved them!!
