I mean I did quote you didn’t I? You must have an opinion on some of her scenes? What scenes do you think she particularly did well? Or was Glenn just AMAZING through the whole film? Edit: I will say that I think Glenn did good in the film, I just don’t think there’s many scenes that allow Glenn to really flex her acting chops, the fight at the amazing was really good! Or was Glenn just AMAZING through the whole film? to me, she was amazing through the whole film, yes. some of her outstanding scenes? don't get me wrong, i'm not underestimating gaga as an actress, she did an amazing job, but these 2 scenes (amongst many others from the wife)... the need to not say anything but show everything simply with your eyes, your face, portray the stress & the anger you feel in a movie & portray it in a way that, as i said, no words are needed... it might just be my opinion, but she deserves this one. I was thinking this, but also if they wait too long, the momentum will slow and another single will be pointless. MR lasted so long, that there ended up being no 3rd single, and that's why I'm hoping the same sort of scenario doesn't happen again. I want Shallow to be milked, but don't wanna lose the 2nd single potential, so I'm willing to have shallow's success end a bit earlier to start pushing something fresh that's dying to smash. Gleen was better because she carried the whole film with a solid performance throughout the entire movie, she never broke character or just stood there (Gaga was off in a couple of scenes - when Jack hit Bobby, when Jack came to her rehearsal, when Jack was at Dave's house and so on). I don't find her performance monotone at all. You couldn't even tell 'till the very end if that whole thing was true or not. Olivia was also better because her facial expressions were amazing. Her eyes told the whole story, she didn't need any lines. You could feel her pain, annoyance, everything. She was an open book. I don't care if she is to be considered a lead or a supporting actress, her performance was stellar nonetheless. And, I hate to say, Gaga can only wish to be this expressive. Melissa is also very underrated. The movie was quite boring, that's a fact. The story wasn't interesting enough but the acting was incredible. She proved to be really versatile (not a singer playing an aspiring singer) and she showed a great evolution of her character. From a struggling middle-aged woman to a criminal who doesn't have anything left to lose. I understand this is GGD but y'all get too easily hyped. Gaga was good, I'm not saying that she wasn't but her performance was not the best of the year. She probably deserved to be nominated (I don't even remember who else was in the race for BA) but she doesn't deserve to win. Not for her acting. Shallow is gonna take the statue and that's all we should really care about. She will probably get better with time, just as her singing has, but this is not her moment to win that Oscar. And I really hate to make comments like this because I sound like a Gaga hater but some of you just need to focus on the art and not the artist.
