Also lemme rihply to the people dragging Yalitza. After Gaga, Yalitza deserves it more than Glenn Close. Glenn doesn't deserve a win just because she's a 47 time loser or whatever. Do y'all think 30 years from now when Katy still has ZERO GRAMMYs that she should get a sympathy win just because she's one of the most nominated people without winning? No.

not you comparing Glenn Close to ****ing Katy Perry :deadbanana:

the point is not in # of nominations. For example Amy Adams's been nominated 6 times aswell but nobody cares about her not getting an Oscar. Glenn Close is known to be a GREAT acctress and that's the whole point. She was snubbed probably 2-3 times and from that persepctive deserves the Oscar in the eye of so many people.

Which of them were REALLY snubs?

Cher deserved for Moonstruck

Meryl deserved for Iron Lady. Even Viola on The Help deserved

Jodie Foster was amazing in The Accused

Yes she's a great actress but was she greater than her performances that she lost for? Was she greater than the performances she's up against? And more importantly are Oscar voters voting for her simply because she has that "overdue" narrative? If the answer to the last question is yes (and it is), then she doesn't deserve the win. Every single "overdue" vote is invalid.

They really need to upload it to her vevo ww, the second it ends. The views that will come in :nooo:

I predict a fan video upload with messy quality getting millions of views and her team uploading the video a month later with the most hideous picture   :madge:

I don't really know if you watched The Wife but in my honest opinion Glenn, Olivia and even Melissa deserve it more than Gaga (I haven't watched Roma so I can't talk about Yalitza)

Imagine if gaga actually wins best actress, we would be more shocked then Gaga winning a grammy for Joanne :deadbanana:

I really don't see that happening but tbh after that Joanne win at the Grammys i think everything is possible :air:

idk, I said "probably", only seen The Accused and know Jodie was amazing.

Anyways,

are the Oscars voters voting for Glenn Close only because of the "overdue" narrative? YES.

is Glenn Close the best actress in the category? YES.

does she deserve to win? NO.

Why? Her role was limited, basic in some random, luckluster movie nobody watched.

Who did the best job at acting in the particular role in this year's BA category? Olivia Coleman.

BUT

Olivia Coleman does NOT deserve the Oscar!

Why? Because she obviously belongs to the Best Supporting Actress category.

Well, then who deserves the Oscar? Lady Gaga.

Case closed :vegas:

Glenn was good in The Wife but she's 71 and has been working as actress for decades! You can't compare.

Melissa wasn't that great tbh. It's just that people are used to seeing her in comedic roles so you get the impression she did great.
