OMG! this is so rude and heartbreaking! :crossed: How much of a gigantic assh*le do you have to be to do something like this? :madge:

She seems so nice and it's WONDERFUL that she's nominated. Everyone should be happy for her

The campaign for Roma is really done by a boss. They were able to push every narative they wanted.

PanPikus

So today in Poland, Bestsellers Of Empik Gala took place (Empik is like, polish Amazon), and A Star Is Born Soundtrack was nominated for Best International Album (which means it was one of the best selling albums in that store last year), and every sale was equal to 1 vote for the album, and unfortunately it lost to Andrea Bocelli's - Si :selena:
If the movie was released at the same time as soundtrack, it would definitely win looking at the current position (#1) on the weekly chart and since like, I don't know, the beginning of the year? it's still #1 album in Empik store :tony:

And the kii is, that 4/5 nominated albums were from Universal Music

Na Wojtusia z popielnika, iskiereczka mruga, chodź opowiem Ci bajeczkę, bajka będzie długa...

Mmm thats true. Netflix REALLY wants to win. Maybe Roma s team is actually spreading that article for Yalitza to get sympathy votes :cryga:

Shallow #18

Not bad at all with the tragic pop radio situation. Imagine if we actually got airplay.

Come on. Their campaign is great but everyone wants to "really win" and let's not play the sympathy vote card when Yalitza is actually facing all that. It's incredibly hard for a woman of color to become big in movies in the US, let alone an indigenous Mexican woman.

I'm glad people are reporting on it and it's really unlikely to change the outcome of anything.

Lets be serious. There isnt a good reason why a situation from Mexic comes around at the exact time and look, unlike Roma, everything is in english. :huntyga:
