The #1 album in the US a few weeks ago sold like 800 copies. 800. Yet 100,000 pure for a #1 is “tragic” oh...

Why do people still care about physical sales... it's 2019

But the only important thing for some people is that she's a girl and ends "male domination" in "sexist America"

Well, if the fact that she has a vajayjay makes up for the abominable music, then good for them

*pure sales, combining both physical and digital sales

They're the easiest way to get a high debut number and still the most profitable medium of music consumption. Nowadays, they're proof of who is actually here to stay and who is not. It's a reflection of whether people like you enough to spend their coins on you and will always hold a high importance in the music industry because it essentially is a forcast on whether touring could be profitable for you or not. If someone doesn't wanna pay 10 bucks for the album, they sure as well won't pay 50 bucks for the concert.

Pure sales and touring gross typically have a high correlation.

The way this narrative is gonna SPIN from "That's all? All the hype, the streams, and that's it?" to "Well I mean duh, payola is real, Scooter did what he had to do!" when HDD updates throughout the week
