We all make mistakes. And of course I think she could have not had him on her show, but I feel like her intent was good. Just executed poorly.

People on twitter acting like the only reason this hate crime happened was because of her.

I do understand but Ellen is a professional, I do wonder if she knew about Kevin's actual jokes/statements before that interview?

Ellen did ONE mistake guys, she gave a chance to someone who said he had changed. Her talking about his come-out on her show was maybe a way to show they trust each other. It shouldn't discredit how amazing everything that Ellen does is. She's one of the few celebrities who deserve absolutely no hate come on...

nnn sis do you have some personal vendetta against her now :laughga: Should I really expect more of this from you or nah?

she is an LGBT icon and legend FOREVER for being one of the first to come out of the closet when she had everything to lose - at the height of her career, in the 90s when being gay was NOT accepted by society, and in an extremely public way. She lived her truth in a way that few people did.

I think people who were born like 15 years ago don't understand what she went through, the importance of what she did and WHEN, and the fact that her contributions to the LGBT community will always outweigh little mistakes like a tone-deaf tweet.
