Will LG6 have a good lead single?

I think we all agree that Interscope f*cked up with every Gaga lead single since almost 10 years if we focus on their commercial potential (not that there have been 90 singles but still...). This is just my opinion, feel free to comment your thoughts.

Born This Way was more than OK, mostly because of its liberating lyrics (and it was also Gaga's choice), and any song from the album would have been #1 for at least 3 weeks so...

But then...

Applause was... a choice. I mean, the GP couldn't stand CrazyGa anymore. I think vocals and emotional melodies were needed. Applause is a catchy song, but why didn't they release Gypsy for exemple?

Anything Goes... why on earth would you release this song as the lead single when you have Nature Boy, But Beautiful or I Won't Dance?

Perfect Illusion... ouch. Same problem again. No need to comment on this one, and no need to tell why Million Reasons needed to be the first single.

Shallow was a great choice. A studio version would have been better though.

Tell me what you guys think will happen with LG6. Have a nice day/night :)

She needs an Aura demo size lead single...not a Shallow/Cure-esque one...

She needs to bring pop back to life in this trap/hip hop/tropical soft pop climate...

Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify!

The OP is slightly exaggarating (**** this word okay?), the only bad lead single choice has been Perfect Illusion. That song was not even single material for an album like Joanne, let alone lead single :air:

Hopefully, this time around they choose the very best song she has recorded for this album.

Spoiler

Spoiler alert, they wont.

I wouldn't mind the second single to be bigger than the lead single tho. Like Just Dance and Poker Face. :vegas:

We'll see when we hear it! I think Perfect Illusion was the only wrong choice. Applause was the most radio-friendly song from ARTPOP, Aura would please us fans but it would flop SO HARD anywhere else.

I think she's really found her way, so I expect LG6 will have great songs. So yes prob a great lead.

Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time.

Will it be a great song that I like? Probably. Applause has been the only time I wasn’t crazy about one of her leads  (I don’t count JD since I wasn’t like anticipating it)

Will it be a radio friendly choice: I mean I wouldn’t count on it.

Just Dance, Bad Romance, Born This Way are great leads. Applause was very well too imo... I don't really call Shallow as a lead as she probably wn't push a second single (globally). But Shallow works amazingly good too.

The only one I really don't like as a lead is Perfect Illusion. That song is amazing but she screams too much for radios to spin it. It was dead before it even started. AYO or John Wayne would have been better choices as lead singles.

Applause was the best choice as the lead single of ARTPOP. period.

No song of the album would have been as big as Applause. Maybe gypsy.

Thiss the only other song that could have been a lead for me was DWUW but Thank god it was not.

But, that doesnt mean JD was a bad lead :huntyga:

Also, I feel like her commercial career, single-wise, is at a state where lead singles are her biggest shots for hits.
