R&B singer James Ingram died today at the age of 66 of brain cancer.

We was nominated for 14 Grammy Awards during his lifetime, and was also a songwriter - i.e. he cowrote "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)" for Michael Jackson.

:heart:RIP James Ingram:heart:

The following are a few of his biggest hits. I hope you'll consider streaming some of them in his memory:

Just Once (Hit #17 on the BB Hot 100)

One Hundred Ways (Hit #14 on the BB Hot 100):

Baby Come to Me (Hit #1 on the BB Hot 100)

I Don't Have a Heart (Hit #1 on the BB Hot 100)

Somewhere Out There (Hit #2 on the BB Hot 100)

Also, here is one of my favorites even though it didn't chart on the Hot 100:

Somewhere Out There is one of the saddest songs in my opinion. Baby Come To Me reminds me sooooo clearly of the 80s. He was so young too.  A sad loss.

I could never hear that song the same way after the horrible story of Jacob Wetterling. Long story short, Jacob was kidnapped from riding home with 2 other boys on their bikes. He was less than a mile away. This was around the time this song was popular and it became the theme song from Jacob's mom to Jacob. Finally after many years, closure was given last year when a man confessed to his kidnapping and his murder. He led police to the remains. He said he took Jacob into the woods, hit him, assaulted him and told him to turn around. Jacob's last words were said thru cries..."What did I do wrong?"...and he was shot in the head.

Because our system is a joke, that closure was given in a plea deal. The man will spend his life in jail for child pics of a bad nature but NO CHARGES FILED on Jacob. His mother said she needed the closure more.

Proceeds from the rerelease of this song went to the Jacob Wetterling Foundation.

A terribly sad story but James Ingram joined the fight for Jacob and I always found that such a good gesture. .

"It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky..."

Give Jacob a hug for his mom, Mr Ingram!
