Taide 5,789
Tbh WDYDT and Heal Me go HARD af. I can't be the only one who's sick of the ballad after ballad Gaga has been giving us lately, so the ''shallow'' pop songs are nice little change. Didymus 34,380
It’s great. MANiCURE and Donatella were way worse lol, I don’t get the hate. Well written pop bop. But the real underrated gem is Hair Body Face. That one actually has deep lyrics underneath its surface.
Zedd 6,342
WDYDT is the best ASIB song. If you want to drag me read below my profile description. The ARTPOP Zedd
REALITY 77,451
Just because a song is shallow doesn't necessarily mean it's bad. WDYDT is just a fun pop song, there's nothing more to it. If you like it, you like it, and if you don't, you don't. 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔪𝔲𝔰𝔦𝔠'𝔰 𝔤𝔬𝔫𝔫𝔞 𝔟𝔯𝔦𝔫𝔤 𝔪𝔢 𝔟𝔞𝔠𝔨 𝔣𝔯𝔬𝔪 𝔡𝔢𝔞𝔱𝔥

It also has very relatable lyrics, but it's not overly repetitive and has a fire chorus! I will say that the lyrics of WDYDT definitely apply to many situations in my life. Unfortunately I find the song itself to be a bit repetitive and borderline obnoxious. Just my opinion. Exactly. I always thought that this song, Hair Body Face, and maybe even Heal Me and it’s 2017 cousin, are sort of mocking how shallow and superficial pop music can be, as it is now and even other genres like rap and hip-hop have also gotten to that point. That’s at least my interpretation of it. OT: This song is definitely a bop but I don’t really find myself listening it to that often because the lyrics are so clearly NOT Gaga Like for example, Donatella is stupid and obnoxious but in a way that’s so over the top that she’s basically laughing at herself in a way, which makes it way more enjoyable than this. It still a cute song tho, I’ll give it that and, knowing the pop industry know, with the right promotion and visuals, hey we could have ourselves another #1. I mean if Ariana sang and added a Cardi B verse this would be #1 for months. ✨oh the lights dim while we’re dancing yeah the floor is shaking in this disco heaven✨
2School4Cool 6,453
First of all, I understand absolutely everything you said. It’s my personal least favorite, not even because of the lyrics but the fact that it’s essentially an antagonist itself in the movie. And I don’t think the pop songs hold a candle to the ballads on the soundtrack, but that’s just my opinion. I 100% respect and understand what you said in your post, though. It’s incredibly catchy and I’m happy you’ve been able to find something meaningful in it, it’s always great when you can find a way to relate to a song. But when I listen to it it reminds me the first time I got attracted to a boy. I was like omg why am I feeling this way, why did he have to look that good, and literally every word of WDYDT. and I remember I had this hate for this guy who made me feel some type of ways and I wish WDYDT existed back then, I would have bopped so hard on it. I don't full agree with the MANiCURE and Donatella statements - those songs (esp Donatella) also had clever and deeper meanings and had great songwriting and a complex production. ASIB pop songs have layers but are rather simple. I agree with HBF being an underrated gem. Clever lyrics with the whole triple threat thing (honestly very FameGa in a way because the Fame had double meanings all over the place). It's also got a great production. Tbf, WDYDT has a clever lyric too - "this is not like me". Still, I feel like HBF is the closest to a Gaga quality song.
