The song is Grande's second Hot 100 No. 1 and second to start on top, following "Thank U, Next," which debuted atop the chart dated Nov. 17, and led for seven total weeks.

Before the critics enter the thread: lemme congratulate Ariana on doing what a lot of female artists haven’t been able to do this decade so far. 

You absolutely deserve this sis  it’s just a little bit overdue, and while we all wish it was your magnum opus Ms. Dangerous Woman that achieved this success, it’s quite refreshing to see a pop steadily grow throughout their career as opposed to steadily decline like is the usual trend  

the fact that the new music isn’t what some people hope for does  not, or at least, SHOULD not, undermine your achievement nor does it make you any less deserving

Very happy for her. It's a bop and everyone but forum-based pop stans can tell her recent stuff is miles better than Overrated Woman (I like that album a lot btw, just don't think it's the second coming of pop like so many of you) and I'm very happy about that Yay for improvement and trustworthy quality releasing!

i wouldn't say it's better but it's different from what she did before and it's fresh. Looking forward to the album. Tracklist song name critics can choke

Shhh! You're gonna offend their right to be disappointed in and hate literally anything that Gaga does! (which includes: ASIB "seemingly can’t win anything") Leave them alone
