Sorry, Lady Gaga: "All the Stars" should win

If we're gonna talk about a cultural moment in significance, we could talk about the beauty that is the nominations for Black Panthre, BlacKkKlansmen, Green Book, and Roma in Best Picture. I personally think that holds more weight than All the Stars' individual nomination, but that's just me.

I’ve been warning y’all this could happen. All The Stars could win in and upset.

As I mentioned earlier, no song that has won the GG and Critics Choice award has lost the Oscar in HISTORY. Shallow won both.

I know. That’s why I don’t think is a lock.

So this article just ignores that Shallow was an integral part of the story when Ally was writing with Jackson and his band.  Jackson isn’t going to arrange a modern pop song lol.   This writer is as anti-rockist as he claims ASiB is anti pop.

It could still happen. Last year This is Me win the globe but this is me won song. I get what you’re saying though. We will just have to see. I really want her to win.

I personally think Roma is the only one here with cultural significance. Apart from being a foreign film and in Spanish, it’s a Netflix film. Spike Lee nominated for Best Director is also important.

You’re right. It’s absolutely not a lock.

Remember me won the critics choice award. This is me won the Globe. Shallow has won both Critics choice and Golden Globes.

And we are concerned about an award ceremony where the low-tier Marvel film Black Panther somehow found its way into the nominations for Best Picture? :laughga:

While I believe there is significance in the former three films (at least in that they largely centered on Black stories and narratives), I very much agree with you on Roma. I think Yalitza's nomination is also something we should all be paying attention to, as well.

Shallow is intrinsically tied to the plot of the movie. It's literally the apex of the story line and the movie is far stronger because of it. ATS's is a song that barely associates to it's parent movie at all, and that alone is a reason for it to not win over Shallow.
