As sad as it is, Joanne was the album that really turned me into a monster

That’s not sad to me, I’ve been a hardcore fan for about 8 years and Joanne is by far my favorite Gaga album/era. Every single song, look, the entire era was perfect. And The Cure is one of my favorite Gaga songs, so even though I chose Applause I’m glad someone is showing appreciation to The Cure.

Judas remains to this day my favorite Gaga single era. She was the name on everybody's lips, the visuals were so cool (and unlike anything else going on), it was the best, hand down.

Really? You’re gonna say that? She made plenty of great music videos after that one.

Really. TEOG is just good, the song saves the whole thing, Yoü and I mv is cool, but nothing special, i love that btw. Marry The Night is okay, the ending is awesome, but i don't get the whole thing. Applause is just fun, but not iconic. Do what u want, who knows? :huntyga: G. U. Y. is amateur, sorry, you can see the shadow of the camera man. The Joanne music videos were total meltdowns. So yes, I love her new songs more, but her old music videos were on top.

Marry The Night is simply one of her best. I don't have time to explain the whole meaning right now but everything makes sense. It's an amazing video.

Smother Em Eh

They all slay in their ways but Applause for me.

The performances, looks and video were all on point. It was a great comeback too.

All of the music videos that you mentioned are better than Judas, especially G.U.Y and Marry the Night, both of which had a more intelligent message than Judas did. It’s interesting that you use the word “iconic” to describe what Applause isn’t, but yet it is a much more remembered video than Judas is. No one talks about that song or music video anymore.

The Joanne music videos weren’t as thoughtfully executed or elaborate as her previous videos, but they fit their song’s respective themes.

I hated marry the night at the time and in re-watching it now I have more appreciation for it. i still dont think its her best and could have been better but i think being so far removed from that era lets me look back on born this way as a whole and appreciate things i wasnt able to then because the hype and expectations and dramas clouded it all for me. i agree with you about everything else though. GUY IS wack for sure, that whole film is wack especially with the ending credits being manicure in its entirety wtf lol like i think she knew ARTPOP was going to end abruptly and these songs werent going to get proper video treatments even though she wanted them to so in an act of defiance she tried to cram them all into this frankenstein'd sewn together poorly video with an everything under the kitchen sink mentality. idk it was just a mess to me. dont really get why its a fan favorite, but its only a fan favorite with the ARTPOP-era stans imo.

As sad as it is, Joanne was the album that really turned me into a monster, before that I was just a "fan" that liked all the hits and a couple fan faves such as Boys Boys Boys. So I'll go with The Cure since THAT was the era I REALLY enjoyed being a L.M.

There is nothing sad about this at all.

Joanne did extraordinary wonders that many monsters are oblivious to. Do you know how many fans she gained through this album? There were so many people who didn't like her past image that seemed to take an interest in Gaga, and even respected her for it.

The album also garnered three Grammy nominations 8 or 9 years into her career, acting as a comeback that also secured a Superbowl halftime show and proved that she is still a pop culture and music force that is here to stay. I remember there were times when I thought she wouldn't be recognised by the Grammys again. And then Joanne and A Star Is Born happened.
