The only "point" needed is that Gaga gets to perform for people that want to see her, and people get to see a couple of great shows in a small venue.  She is a singer and performer, thats what they do after all.

Every single thing Gaga has done since ARTPOP has been called a "mistake" by LM's.  Yet here we are with Gaga getting universal acclaim for her accomplishments, sold out shows, and an expanded career beyond pop music.

I'd like a few mistakes like that, thanks.

Necessary? no. It does feel like a regression and purely a cash grab / maybe a way of Gaga expirimenting with being creative again. Storyline doesn’t work though. It’s relied upon too heavily without having enough drive / song/ settings to fit the theme. It’s just surprising to me. I think it’s based in money/ nostalgia marketing. Btwb, monsterball 2.0 worked because she either had the songs fit the storyline perfectly or because the storyline was loose enough to be strayed away from and have audience interaction.

I wish Enigma was more focused on her more recent music, specifically from ASIB and Joanne.

I am over The Fame. ALL OF IT.

Pretty bored with everything prior to BTW.

Keep the setlist current. Please.

Devastating and boring that she began the show with Just Dance.

Mistake or not Enigma is the most interesting thing she’s done since the Super Bowl

I try to be a Gaga apologist to some extent. I try to remain positive. However, when the rumor of Vegas came out I was one of the first comments melting down (it was my first and only one) because I thought it was a horrible idea.

I agree with you, I loved the show when I saw it. I loved the energy. The costumes. The plot. The set list. The stage.

That being said, the thought of her being stuck in Vegas is still kind of sad to me for some reason. I understand that we are in between solo eras and it is a great way to keep her performing. It is also great for those of us who get to travel to see her and the fact that she is there for such a long time gives other fans a chance to save up and not miss out. It is also great for her health wise.

I think it makes me sad because I feel like this may be it. Like we all know Gaga and she did a major chunk of a tour with a hip that had giant tears and holes in it. She has almost passed out from altitude sickness and been so sick that she is puking in the wings, but she still performed because she loves it. This fibromyalgia thing is darker then all of those and I think she is in more excruciating pain than we realize because she cancelled JWT two times because of it. I think its hard to grasp that she may never tour the world again. That’s a reality and I think why Vegas feels so...uneasy...like a mistake.

But I don’t think its a mistake for her. I think the show will greatly evolve as she releases LG6, which is exciting. But I do feel like Vegas will be the LG6 tour.

It was only a mistake for my bank account. Other than that, it's not that deep: in the end, she's a performer, and she's performing.

Nope, she's a musician.

Ever since C2C it's almost like she wants us to forget about it. She's a writer. That's why she got her Rilke tattoo. Like, why are so many of you acting like this is normal business? She doesn't have to perform if it hurts her body so much. Why not just write and release music and some interesting video concepts? Do some special performances?

It's all been very unambitious imo from 2014 onwards. She works with co-writers more and more and seems to choose projects that distract from her lack of artistic development (as a music artist anyway). Joanne was pleasant but to see her choose for the "I'm holding a guitar and singing country, this is the real me!" safe route was disappointing and almost shockingly standard. This "lemme just sing all of my old songs and put something I've already said countless times in interviews over the years in a theatrical format" Enigma show is another example.

EIther she simply stopped caring or never cared that much about writing music. Or she doesn't care much about releasing it anymore, that's also a possibility (in line with some of her early 2014 comments about the music industry).

I also think Enigma plays a vital role in that it is allowing her to regain some of her confidence/footing after having to cancel the latter portion of the JWT. She likes performing, and this Vegas residency gives her an outlet through which she can do so... meaning she can be happy doing something she loves. That should make us fans VERY happy!

...

Good point. It's nice to think about the residency as a sort of trial phase where she can figure out what her body can take and how to accommodate her health conditions. Once she gets attuned to her body's new potential and limits, she'll hopefully be ready for some tours that don't get cancelled. :)

The only mistake is that I'm on the other end of the world. She loves the stage and with her health conditions it seems a bit of a no-brainer. I've seen videos and it looks like so much fun but it doesn't reinvent the wheel like I imagined it would. Saying that it is nice to see her in a more pop atmosphere because that's the Gaga I fell in love with and the Gaga that has been absent for me since AP.

The hardest thing in this world is to live in it

it was the most distant she’s ever been from the traditionally known and loved “Lady Gaga”.

 and was Enigma a mistake?

She toured Joanne on a stage full of fire, wearing leather-fringed jackets and a full red latex bodysuit as videos of fretting bodies played on the backdrop screen, with interludes that were creepy af (the paint-drooling face, the claws), dying on a descending platform and singing about sex dreams at coachella, a show that had an intro made of basically The Ring's videotape footage. Yeah, she wasn't "Gaga" enough during Joanne.

And was Enigma a mistake?

No. She's happy with that and gets coins.

I think it was meant to remind us that the ‘Gaga’ part of her is still there. Given the fact that she had undergone an extreme change of image to showcase her natural talent.

Does it matter? Damage is done
