This is called the naturalistic fallacy. Just because we do something by nature doesn't mean we ought to do it. Pedosexuality may be natural for some, so what? In the true 'human nature' of 10000 years ago people would only become 30-40 years old on average. Should we also go back to drinking river water, having unsafe sex and using no soap?

Red meat has been shown to cause earlier death, and a varied diet of vegetables, nuts, legumes and fruits has been shown to prolong life duration. Non-animal products don't contain cholesterol. Becoming overweight is also much more difficult with a plant-based diet (there's simply not that much calories in vegetables and fruits).

I think you are being a bit dramatic and you come off a little vegan crazy. What the heck with the “just because we do something by nature doesnt mean we ought to do it?” Drinking River water, unsafe sex, using no soap. You are throwing things blindly just to push your agenda. There’s nothing wrong with having some red meat, we need protein and need varied diets but it’s not cool that you say red meat causes earlier death when it can be the same for veggies. You would have to eat a whole bowl of nuts just to get the same amount of protein you get from just a small piece of meat.

Also why does weight have to be involved? I don’t care about your life choices but don’t shame people for theirs, whether you are conscious about it or not it’s like you are saying “be a vegan, it’s so much more healthier. Did you know red meat causes early death? So why not switch to a plant base diet? It not only helps you lose weight cuz veggies don’t have lots of calories so you can’t go wrong! Not to mention no cholesterol!” It looks to me like malnutrition.

Everything is always good in moderation and you need all the food groups, and that includes fats so you can’t rely everything on a plant based diet and if you found ways, most likely they were lab created so you are putting unnnatural chemicals in your body.

If a man doesn’t want to wear dresses or makeup, or anything of that nature, that doesn’t mean it’s toxic.

You have a very shallow understanding of toxic masculinity and how negatively it affects men. The most important example is that 75% of suicide deaths in Australia are men, and suicide the leading cause of deaths among males between 15-44 years old. Depression among boys and men is criminally under-diagnosed... simply because they're afraid to reach out and ask for help because they think they will be laughed at. Toxic masculinity is a real thing, and is detrimental to the mental health of men all around the world. Anyone who thinks pointing that out is "anti-male" can take several seats.

Cackling. In the beginning I thought omg noooo but in the end it is a good commercial, thank god they used different guys otherwise it would've been awkward and unsexy as **** (no shade to that first guy but he was creepy af).

Brave choice, I applaud it :applause: And a good message.

People are so hard pressed to remove “toxic masculinity” that they are becoming the problems themselves.

If a man doesn’t want to wear dresses or makeup, or anything of that nature, that doesn’t mean it’s toxic.

Making fun of someone for doing that, is toxic.

Learn the difference.

No one is saying that :poot:

I suggest you learn about what toxic masculinity really refers to and not from PETA and others who are co-opting the term for their own benefit.

Wrong.

Go back to wherever you came from.

Also, this is a strawman - men can still be masculine without toxic masculinity. Only a subset of conventionally masculine things is toxic. That's what's bad, not masculinity itself.

I'm not talking about toxic masculinity.

But in moderation your actually less likely to have deficiencies if you eat a bit if everything

Vegans have to be super careful to organize their diet to not be deficient on stuff

That's certainly true. I just got defensive replying to someone who thinks the opposite :laughga: some good cheese, fish or eggs can be helpful for a varied diet.

I'm not vegan (yet) but I think it's the best position to have. I get my protein from fake meat, which has exactly the same protein as normal meat. Walnuts, almonds, cashew nuts, etc. have similar protein percentages as meat. Legumes, lentils, pasta and the like also contain some protein. It's not at all difficult to get enough protein without eating meat. If you're just vegetarian, you also have the option of eating cheese and quark for more protein.

The only thing you miss when you don't eat animal products is vitamin B12, for which you can get supplements.

And red meat does cause cancer.

I'm okay with people making their own life choices, when it doesn't impact others. With climate change and the bio-industry still going on I can be moralistic without being paternalistic.

Just be careful with protein as most plants don't contain the full spectrum of amino acids you need. It's not just how many grams of protein it has it's also about the type

Nuts and legumes like beans are good as they are relatively complete. Most mushrooms are also high in protein

But stuff like wheat not only is it low in protein but the type of protein it contains is also not complete

Lots of things cause cancer, using cellphones causes cancer, the pollution in urban environments causes cancer, Like I said, I’m not condoning your lifestyle, I try to eat healthy too but the way you spoke sounds very high and mighty especially with the natural fallacy thing which is just philosophical stuff. It was unnecessary. Eat what you want to eat and live your life the way you want to. It’s just like fan wars that put down other artists to make their artist look better.

I get what you're saying, and I'm not a fan of paternalism. Paternalism is educating someone about what's good for them. It's not paternalistic to show to people that eating meat causes a lot of harm to others (animals, environment), not just yourself.

PETA have always been inappropriately sexual for a long time. They sexualised women involving an ad of them pouring vegetables over them while dressed in underwear to prove that vegans make better lovers and had two women making out on a bed in their underwear in the middle of a crowded shopping mall to prove that vegans are less prone to impotence (which falls flat in this case because impotence is a male issue and therefore, makes no sense using women other than for pure titillation). When they're called out for this, they can't answer because they know they'll stoop to any level to get views and are just too ashamed to be honest about it.

There is no evidence that non-vegan diets cause impotency, reduced libido or sexual stamina. Hello, most of the people who breed like rabbits are meat-eaters and always have been! The world, most of which isn't vegan, has several billion people in the world. I don't think their diet is restricting their ability to reproduce neither is the reproduction a once-off miracle. If you want people to go vegan, rely on evidence if you must. And make it more about the animals. The way vegans really lose the rest of us is when they start making their arguments all about health, as if they think that will convince us more or something. The idea that vegans are healthier is subjective at best and it's not convincing most of us. Most of what they say regarding health statistics is simply not true and yet they'll believe it just because it's a pro-vegan message. You'll notice so many vegan activists online are focused on health and fitness - it's clear what their game is. There's not much money to be made if you tell people to do it for the animals. But doing it for health reasons is something you can sell and profit from through culinary lines and supplements lines and being like any all-round fitness specialist. It's no wonder that so many people try to be vegan but then give up, because they've been spun overblown tales about how much slimmer, healthier and full of energy you'll be for it and when they feel nothing, they wonder what the point is.
