Why not actually voice an opinion and join the debate meaningfully?

So shouldn’t the title of this thread be

”Is the Weeknd someone who falsely believes they can alter a gay woman’s sexuality by offering them good sex?”

Cuz I’m still not seeing the homophobia.

first of all i did not make this thread nor accuse him of being a homophobe.

these lyrics does not necessarily make Abel a homophobe. But he's ignorant use of words contributes to a disgusting way of looking at lesbian women, which is in fact very homophobic. And people got all their rights to be upset about that. I've been a fan since Trilogy and I'm very disappointed in him.

You can do a lot of homophobic **** without being a homophobe.

I’ve also been a fan since Trilogy.

I just don’t see how it’s offensive. How about if he happened to be gay and was singing about a man of his desires saying he’d turn him.

That would be equally repulsive in your book?

I do think his lyrics on this song are super basic for his standard.

It's not about a gay woman tho! Everyone please stop with the faulty premise that this song is even about a gay woman, because it's not!! It's about a bisexual or bicurious woman!

(Not calling you out in particular bc I see that your comment is sarcastic, just shouting this out to everyone in the thread)

My old cat is a tough man, but i cant deny the way he bites my hand and he stabs me, he grabs me by my heart <3

Straight men have never Been opressad because of their sexuality so singing about turning a straight man gay would never have the same negative effect as singing about turning a gay person straight
