AnglerfishbraBENUS 5,734
The trailer is in E minor / G major and the version on Spotify etc is the same. The 'pitched down one' is Gb Major. There's also a difference between pitch correction and autotune.

Defmix100 6,420
it's exactly the same on itunes in the UK, played them at the same time and no key difference Edit: the youtube one shown in that instagram post isn't the official trailer so they either pitched it down themselves or were watching a pitched down/slowed down version of the trailer someone must have randomly uploaded (maybe to get by copyright)
jezze0410 393
I have perfect pitch: the version on the right is indeed around a semitone lower, but it's definitely the same audio track tuned down. Because I have nothing better to do, I double-checked with an online tone generator. The lowest note in the AHHHAAHHAHH run is 323 Hz in the version on the left (which is in the correct key, i.e. the one from the movie, streaming platforms, Enigma performance) and 313 Hz in the one on the left. Which could be the result of someone slowing down the trailer video by about 3% (to fit a 2:30 ad slot perhaps?) and not bothering to correct the pitch. This is nothing new; I find that, for example, theme songs to American TV shows are often pitched slightly differently when broadcast in the UK. Dirtyicecreamz 1,754
there's definitely a difference Stop the music, Start the drama.
joannesrats 26
The only difference is how she sang it. It's always been two version that went to iTunes vs. the one in the official trailer. She has a different tone, which gives the illusion of singing it in a lower key, but that's it. It's not pitched different. I listened to them at the same time and they were in the exact same key, instrumental and all. Gaga may have had an off-note, but it's my idea that the reason why she sang it differently in the movie is because Ally sang with a smoother voice. She didn't really use that rough/throaty sound that Gaga did.
Vojta 278
I watched the trailer on Czech iTunes and it sounds a bit slower than the YouTube one to me...but i’m not sure

WildAmerican 13,672
lmao they just lowered the key. It's all the same tho.
Ziggy 12,003
Honestly it could just be that it was pitched differently slightly for the different platforms. It definitely isn't autotuned at all, just a different pitch.

It is nothing to do with pitch correction though, it's literally acheived by either purposely dropping the videos audio down a semitone or the more likely option is slowing down the trailer slightly in a video editor to make it longer which lowers pitch
