Sneaky Oliver 21,349
Oh ofc Gaga had fillers probably hyaluronic acid (or something similar) that’s a dermal filler so it’s injected in the skin(not muscles). It’s used for cosmetic purposes. These fillers are temporary so that’s why she often appears with her “old face” again.
JazzGa 14,514
Some people get chronic dental and facial pain from clenching their jaw too much, especially in their sleep. I wonder if botox could help with that as well. I've taken a few dips in the lady pond

I wonder if botox could help with that as well. Yes it helps! (I'll continue my experience below.) So I have LOTS of experience in getting Botox for pain. I have chronic migraines and get Botox every 3 months. It helps tremendously (although not a cure in any way) to calm my migraines down. I get injections in my face, side of my face, neck and also my shoulders. Although this is not standard protocol for injection sites, my neurologist does it here because "we don't waste Botox" and I have lots of issues with my neck and shoulder muscles. I also get some on the sides of my face since I clinch my jaw often. I can't really say that Botox has changed my look cosmetically, maybe I have less wrinkles? But I didn't really have any to start off with. My face doesn't look like I have fillers in any way. So I'm not denying that Gaga has had Botox for both pain and cosmetic needs. I have also had nerve block injections (which hurt more than Botox injections), in my head and back/shoulders. I've had it done just like Gaga did in Five Foot Two with the ultrasound guided injections (and it's so cool to "hear" the change in your muscle when it's injected). Here is a picture of standard placement of Botox for migraines. If anyone has any more specific questions, I'll be glad to try to answer them. And let me add that anyone that I will never understand anyone who gets injections in their face by choice. Especially around the eyes hurts like crazy and over the ears you can hear a crunching noise as it goes in. I've been doing this for almost 3 years now, so I get used to the pain, but it never feels good. To each their own I guess. she/her/hers

That was such a more in depth answer than I was expecting anyone to give me! Thank you! It looks like the injection sites align with the attachment points for the muscles of the face. Do you think chronic migraines and facial pain is often caused by muscle tension alone? Or is it likely caused by a number of different body parts besides the face muscles? Or is it likely caused by a number of different body parts besides the face muscles? This is a chicken and egg question. I think my migraines can be caused by muscle tension however sometimes I get the migraine before I feel my muscles tense up. I also go to physical therapy to work on my back/neck/shoulders (for my migraines). At physical therapy, they have taught me how everything is connected, if my leg muscles are tense, it can cause me to have bad posture, which can then cause neck strain, which then causes a migraine. So I think that tension anywhere in the body can have an effect on migraines or even chronic pain in general. she/her/hers

That is so true, about one body part being out of alignment or in some pain causing even greater pain somewhere on the other side of the body. I definitely can relate to that. Thanks so much for your thoughtful answers to my questions. I've taken a few dips in the lady pond

And doesn't it make you feel like some muscles are alseep? Or maybe you Don't feel anything? Thank you for posting such a complete comment about that, I appreciate it! Or maybe you Don't feel anything? Thank you for posting such a complete comment about that, I appreciate it! It's quite expensive actually. Before I meet my deductible it's $1000 for one set, after that it's around $200. However, Botox has an assistance program where they refund some of that money. $200 every three months (I typically meet my deductible), is well worth the benefit. Botox does not make my muscles are asleep, my head is just typically very sore afterwards. To the point that brushing my hair can hurt sometimes. I try to make sure I wash my hair before I go so I don't have to have much more pressure on my head. The nerve injections name my head feel numb, but that's their purpose. That is a very strange feeling! But those can be used for more acute care. I just got some last week because I had a migraine cycle (a migraine for several days that went up and down in pain levels) that wouldn't go away. It's helped me since I got it to not have a migraine. she/her/hers

She looks good either way I’m pretty sure she didn’t do injections in 2013/2014 so her face was actually very natural. 2012 and 2015 were like her huge years of injections/semi-permanent face changes. 2012 because of her weed obsession and lip injections, and 2015 because of her cheek injections (and lip injections?). She’s progressively gotten more natural since 2016 though, going to get injections less often (I think the last time she went was many months ago, maybe even 2017).
