StrawberryBlond 13,278
No wonder attornies can have such bad reputations. The trash they defend sometimes for their job is reprehensible. I don't even know how you're supposed to deal with a client who you can clearly see is guilty as hell but is paying you. Gaga should pay them no mind, as should everyone else. For the record, R Kelly was considered a very odd, non-commercial choice to feature when she did it, most fans were baffled at his inclusion when it was announced. His last big hit had been Ignition back in 2003 and he hadn't had any big hits since then, he hadn't had a #1 album since 2007 (that same album was his last to go platinum) and he was 47 at the time, a whole 20 years older than Gaga, so he seemed like an old, irrelevant choice to make. There were so many younger, more relevant artists that were big in 2013 that she could have chosen, so if anything, she threw him a lifeline, not the other way around. And her career only got worse after collabing with him, her integrity was called into question at the time. Their live performances together raised some eyebrows, the song failed to reach top 10 in the US (even though that's where R Kelly is the most successful) and it didn't reach the higher echelons of the charts worldwide either, the video was never released so we don't know how successful it could've been, the song nor anything else from the album got any Grammy nominations, the tour was one of her least successful, it's not a song that most people recount as one of her definitive hits. Featuring on her album resulted in the biggest selling album in years (502k sold in US, his highest selling album since 2007). To say that he was the one that helped her is ludicrous. Chris Thomason 929
The fact that people are talking about whether this could cost her winning an oscar or could help win her an oscar is troubling. DWUW has absolutely nothing to do with ASIB and should be judged entirely on her performance not in her business decisions. Oscars have lost all value if this is the case.
