He outright said he doesn't want to be an LGBT Ally, It's clear he doesn't want anything to do with the LGBT Community. He could have taken this as an opportunity to learn and open his mind but instead he went into defense mode, It's clear he has a thing or two to learn about Gay people but is unwilling to. If his prejudices were only in the past he would have given a sincere apology, showed maturity and moved on. It's clear he still has the same mentality and don't want to change it. It's so incredibly ignorant, rude and insensitive and unfortunately it's an attitude thats prevalent in society today. He should read the book To Kill a Mockingbird.
