Lemon played a clip of Hart talking on Monday night’s radio show where he says it is not his dream to be an ally for the gay community, contradicting his statement to be in the fight for equality. Said Lemon, “He is sorry, he said, but it is not his dream to be an ally for the LGBT community. Now, you can take that however want. You can be upset by it. However you want to feel. But that is his right. If he doesn't want to be an ally towards the LGBTQ community, then that shows that he has in fact not changed. To not be an ally is means that you couldn't care less about what LGBTQ people have to go through, and what kinds of discrimination/inequality that we face. I don't know why he doesn't want to be an ally, and frankly, I would just like to know his reasoning and why he thinks that way. This doesn’t mean he’s homophobic. It’s like me and cancer research. Of course I’m all for finding a cancer cure, but that’s not my main focus. I’m focused on homeless youth and AIDS research. When I think Ally I think someone who goes out of their way to help a cause, by donating, attending marches, giving a voice to the communtiy through social media.
