If they decide to cancel her after she clears up this whole thing then that's their problem. She'd be able to move on from it once and for all.

No, you’d be able to move on. Maybe. Maybe not.

Loud enough voices will continue to cancel her and bring that up. So she wouldn’t be able to move on from it.

This thread diverted quickly.

While we feel Gaga should speak up there is no way she can win in this situation.

Speak up? Everyone will trash her for doing what she did. She’ll bring the fact that she collaborated with him to the forefront of the GP thoughts on here when she has so much positive press right now. People will lose respect for her.

Don’t Speak Up? People will claim she’s a hypocrite and she will be trashed for what she did. People will still bring up her collab and lose respect for her.

I understand the arguement that she should say something, but I can also see the arguement for not saying something.

Either way, as I said on the other thread and others have stated, we know how she feels about the matter. The fact that she has distanced herself from this song so much should also speak to her thoughts on it.

I believe she will one day speak on this, but it may not be today or anytime soon. Honestly, I can respect her for that too, the focus needs to be on R Kelly’s victims and the wrongs done to them. Assuming Gaga isn’t one of his victims, I think the attention is focused on where it should be.

And what about the fans who have supported R Kelly’s music and just made him even more rich. Are we going to call them out too? R. Kelly is capable of making good music, as we know, but the fact that he continues to make music and be supported by his fans shows our society needs some big changes still.

The saddest part of this story to me is that we will never hear from Aaliyah.

You’re so right. Gaga is damned if she speaks and damned if she stays silent so she is better off staying silent and giving the vultures nothing. They keep begging for scraps but all they get is Gaga’s cold shoulder

Also, I miss Aaliyah and I wish she were here. She has never ever said a bad thing about R Kelly. I wish we would get her side of the story

Has anybody considered that perhaps Gaga hasn't spoken up because she doesn't want to taint and ruin the DWUW song (even more) for her fans.

How can the focus be on his victims if they decided to put it on Gaga? Those people bringing the attention on her have a personal issue with her and don't really care about the story. It's just like how Trump supporters come for Meryl about Weinstein.Which is why the best she can do is not to respond, this isn't about her, it's just all noise. I want her to talk about it but not now !

This was my point exactly.  It shouldn't be placed on Gaga, it should be placed on his victims right now.

(And maybe that's why she's being silent too.)

Its still beyond me why gaga worked with him. It really irritated me, especially with the lyrics to that song. I will never understand.

Just remember who's responsible for this big mess: DJ White Shadow

Gaga should've canceled him a long time ago just like she canceled R Kelly

After watching this again tonight, I have a few thoughts.

His brother is just as disgusting as he is. What's wrong with him having a taste in younger women? Everything, because his taste is not for younger WOMEN, his taste is for CHILDREN.

Also, I feel like he is a very manipulative person. As most abusers are, he can put on the persona of being this upstanding citizen so some in the industry probably don't see this side of him that many are describing. (Including Gaga, not excusing it, just stating the fact.) Having lived through an abusive situation, it is amazing how much the abuser can manipulate the situation and people on the outside don't see it. You never know what goes on behind closed doors.  Not to keep bringing it up, but I was in a abusive relationship for 12 years, and no one knew about it until the end when I was getting out of my situation. I talk about it now because I want it to bring awareness to how these things can happen you may never know. Yes he had victims to speak up, but not at first. I hope this all makes sense.

Do we think that Sparkle's niece (and family) was paid something to deny the video? I guess this is like any sexual assault survivor not wanting to speak up, but I wonder why.
