Yes! As an ARTPOP stan I do love this song and it deserved better. I hardly every listen to the R Kelly version I either listen to the solo or xtina version. I love the twist about the media and public image as well as the blatant sexual forefront of the track. Iconic (and that performance on X Factor UK was one of gaga's best)!

I'm sorry but seriously?

I remember that was the time Venus was originally planned as the 2nd single, so it just ended up as a weird Venus-DWUW mash up with basically Gaga dancing around in her underwear by the end :emma:

I think I was actually a bit concerned for Gaga then :rip:

I loved her venerability and sincerity during that performance even though it was messy and she was acting crazy. I was living for MessyGa at that point

Pop Music and Lady Gaga forever!

DWUW is genuinely a great track and its just unfortunate that it got wrapped up in controversy due to R.Kelly's trashiness. Its the kind of track that under any other circumstances including Gagas (at the time) waning popularity, should have been a number one single and should have been one of her biggest songs since her peak imo.

Yeah but the DWUW portion of that performance was infinitely stronger than the Venus portion and the lyrical content/message of DWUW makes sense being in underwear anyway? Even though that underwear was ugly af but whatever.

Love it and its intended meaning. I do think that the bridge is one of the worst in her career tho
