I mean, is it really that big of a deal? I thought sending space crafts to Mars was the thing or landing on a moving astroid. Is China's space program behind everyone else?

What are the changes you are talking about?

the social point system on how to citizens should behave or that their president can be president for life now by removing the term limits? :oprah:

I was refering to a government that has been serious about reducing emissions (heavy investment in renewables and subsidies for electric cars), the economic system is also being steared to one of more consumption that their citizens can enjoy a higher standard of living. There have been several minimum wage hikes and their middle class is growing quickly

Some years ago there was also some relaxation of religious oppression tho I don't remember the details

There's a lot of progress socially even if it is a power hungry government

But that is not true you quoted @CannaeDrive post where he said that China is a repressive police state where you awnserd that it is chaning in my ways and making progress

I can't tell from that comment that you are talking about the enviorment and the Growing middel class which are the only the few positive things that can be said about that goverment

You say  there is a lot of social progress but that is only from an economic point of view

I would say it is going backwards

Tha anti democratic propaganda in hong kong

and are the  muslim conversian Camps the relaxation of religious freedom? :oprah:

I think it IS a big deal. It's something that has never been done before that was previously unattainable and extremely dangerous. For instance when our Apollo missions traveled around the moon they would lose all communication with Earth. Apollo 8 was the first to do it and it was a stressful dangerous thing, and only just being done all these decades later for the first time! Sounds like a big deal to me. Just because there are things that seem more impressive in our sci-fi world, doesn't meant this isn't.

I have so many questions but I don’t want look dumb :huntyga:

You may be surprised how little the general public actually knows or understands about the moon. I lead night sky and astronomy programs and we get some wack-a-doodle questions. There are really people that think the moon is made of cheese, or that you can see angels through telescopes. Ask away! Every question, even if it's made of goat cheese or cheddar, is legit. :)
