That still doesn't make it "Gaga's" strategy. TeenIdle 128,465
Joanne's rollout was perfect. A month and a half between the lead and the album, 3 singles overall before the album dropped. It got messy when the second single changed but it was for the best 𝖓𝖊𝖜 𝖗𝖊𝖑𝖎𝖌𝖎𝖔𝖓

Not that Gaga owns that strategy and it's hers alone.

But I think she could greatly benefit from surprise release because she is a household name and that release could make some astounding first week numbers. Dunno about longevity tho... but is she big enough though? Take a look at Joanne, for instance. There was hype for a new single and Perfect Illusion was a bop, but it ended up flopping. Witout anticipation, I doubt it would'be gone as high as it did.

Well actually it was crazy that Joanne sold 200k without any hit to back it up, so that's why I think surprise could work for her. Joanne had 2nd biggest female debut that year with the minimal promo, tanked lead single and all hype was wasted on PI. Considering her ASIB renaissance I think she now has the hype to pull some big numbers on her name alone. I mean, if she could after ARTPOP and flop single, I'm quite sure surprise could lead her to 250k+ numbers.
Doncho 27,241
Well... I like how spaced her projects are, it just give them more time to shine and become memorable. HOWEVER we need to have an era with more than 2 singles. Her last one to do that was Born This Way I would like to wait 2-3 years for a full era, but when you know it will have 2 singles max... its hard EDIT: Ok ARTPOP had 3 singles. But we all know GUY was barely promoted... and DWUW with no video
