Dilwyn 4,090
I think the biggest problem of her team is that they are all family and friends. They keep her in a comfort zone. She needs foward thinking, ahead of the curve, professional people.
AlexanderMagno 10,746
Maybe because Gaga and her team live in a bubble where everything they do is perfect. Yes, the show could be better. Rehashing whatever she did in the past is not as good as some fans are claiming. Sure, we have the crazy wigs and costumes, but there are better crazy outfits than other. And Enigma has some of the worst stage outfits and wigs. Hopefully they will change with time, as Gaga has done before. The lightning, the visuals, the """""robot""""" bring nothing new to the table and that what we should expect from Gaga. It's not about getting too hyped (you guys talk as if you weren't expecting anything before Enigma started...), it's about expecting Gaga to be Gaga, a great performer who has established herself as an innovative artist. Nothing was misunderstood, nothing was overhyped, everyone (fans and her team) creates this expectation because everything Gaga does needs to have the "groundbreaking" tag. But the execution hasn't been groundbreaking in years. Sometimes, just sometimes, Gaga could care about the critics, including her own fans. And it doesn't mean she must compromise her art to meet everyone's expectations, it just means accepting the challenge.

It genuinely baffles me that she thinks she has to dance a whole night of pop choreographies to call something a show, it's like... weren't you gonna revolutionize pop culture? Why are you still playing by the boring rules You could do so much different stuff, spend your money differently and wow us properly. I mean, it's not normal some fans have to belittle other fans for having "unrealistic" expectations. Why is it a good thing to expect her to do the same show over and over again? Why should it be right to not be ambitious in our own imagination? Why is it so wrong of us to want to be wowed? She took my breath away countless times already, I know she can do it. And it's not a question of money, it's how you spend it. And I just don't like her spending it all on boring designs or a stage that actually is not that impressive even though it may be expensive I just want to see something I know another pop chick couldn't have come up with. That's why I keep an eye on her in the first place. So yeah, I'd say she's just not bold enough. She seems to have lost some of her edge. Like, seriously, imagine Katy or Ari performed this exact Vegas show. There's no doubt in my mind that more than half of the people in these threads being all "the show is so great your expectations ruined it" would do a complete 180 and would trash that show to the depths and beyond And it's kind of sad that Gaga doesn't realize that herself when she's designing these performances. Would she herself be wowed if she saw a show like that? I really don't think so. U know what ? I love reading ur posts and i love u soooo much . Thank u for being here .. 2School4Cool 6,434
I honestly feel like it’s the fans who can at times have unrealistic expectations. I’m not blaming anyone, and I understand getting beyond hyped. I too had so much fun making show predictions, I feel like the only issue comes in when people start assuming things when there has been no official word of them. The show delivered on all of its promises, and rumors of things like holograms and new songs came directly from fans. They started their own rumors and were let down when they didn’t actually happen. No shade in any way to these fans, because I fully understand. I spent the opening night livestream getting excited whenever she said the word future because I thought maybe a new song was coming. The key is not getting mad at gaga when these things don’t come true. See The Best In Everyone

Whispering 18,865
The promo was appropriate and right on target. As usual, a tiny percentage of fans overhyped themselves. That’s on them, not on Gaga or her team.

I think a lot of fans don't understand that if Gaga debuted with the music and performances she's been delivering for the last few years, she probably (a) wouldn't have made a splash at all; (b) they probably wouldn't even be fans of hers, at least not like they are now. When you imagine Enigma is a debut show from a debut artist the flaws shine through a lot more clearly. When you delete the whole "omg it's Lady Gaga!!!" effect there's just not much there Very easy explanation for why some fans don't see any problem with it (because they'll just support whatever they get, because it's Lady Gaga!), and why some fans do (because they fell in love with Gaga's specific brand more than her as a person). This is the concert she wanted to put out and if you don’t like it fine, keep bitching but it won’t change anything lol. You keep your eye on Gaga because you want her to do stuff other pop women can’t come up with? Well, then you should turn your eyes any other direction because nowadays anyone with money has access to new ideas and technology.

It's not about grandeur though. Like, imo, The Fame Ball had a lot more interesting visual ideas than Enigma, with like 1000x less money, and that includes the interludes, actually So that would be an excellent example, I guess. It's not about what she needs to do, it's about what I want her to do. I'm not denying that's totally selfish, but at the end of the day I became a fan because I liked what I saw and wanted to see more, ànd I have to decide whether or not something's worth spending money on compared to everything else I can spend it on If this is the performance she wanted to create, then that's fantastic for her. I don't see how that should cancel out my opinion about it though I'm a fan, I like talking about her so I have an opinion, the end. It's not that complicated. Sharing opinions is just a nice way to spend time, I'm not so deluded to think my "bitching" will change anything lol
