TeenIdle 125,753
I agree with you. Another problem of mine is that the hits just don't stand out at all anymore... Back in the day Paparazzi was this huge closer where Gaga was fighting a monster, BR had the sphere that was entertaining enough and Born This Way at the BTWB was a spectacle. She just doesn't seem to use her imagination when it comes to those songs anymore. It feels like she performs them because she's obligated to. The worst case imo is You and I. I know it's a piano song but seriously.. we've seen that 4 times now I feel like she needs more props to make it even better. 𝖓𝖊𝖜 𝖗𝖊𝖑𝖎𝖌𝖎𝖔𝖓
Enno 706
We're on a tour of greatest hits since the artRave. Gaga and her team reported that ENIGMA would be totally NEW and in the end it was just one more show like everyone else in Las Vegas. Gaga could have reinvented her songs and included others she never performed. I am particularly tired of Poker face, Love Game, Just and Bad Romance. vertigostick 2,444
Because it’s ALWAYS the same with a few people, whatever project she puts out. In the first few days, they’re negative about it. Just for the sake of it. And then, they get used to it and change their minds. Disgusting, basic drama queens without a sense of reflexion.

KANEGAGA 444
But you have to take into consideration, she's doing a Vegas residency. Of course us super stans have seen pretty much all of her live performances/tours, but a Vegas residency is not a world tour. She has to make sure her show is appealing to the general public. Most people go to Vegas for vacation NOT to specifically see Gaga, if that makes sense. I think people are getting confused with a residency vs a world tour. Can you point out any other Vegas residency that works like a full musical with a storyline, dialogue, social message and cathartic moment?

And my argument is that, in an era where her 'classics' have been so over-exposed, these two things would've really catapulted Enigma to a new status. I think that, even with some of the messiness of the show, a lot of these 'issues' would've felt totally irrelevant had the set-list itself been more alive. Because, ultimately, Gaga herself is absolutely bringing it in Vegas - it's just that she's only doing so with hits that we have so frequently seen performed over the past two years. nah, those elements are major problems too. TimisaMonster 31,073
I think Enigma was kinda planned last minute...I know she had a year to work on it but I do feel ASIB got in the way of it being a better show production wise... Concept is fine, but the execution and the music wasn't really there...she definitely needed to play 1 new song to make it seem worthwhile I just don't wanna wait til May to have to hear new music...good thing I waited to get a ticket lol Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify! Céline's A New Day... It's the most successful residency of all time, actually. Ok, it may not have had Céline talking to a video screen, or a social message (though I don't think Enigma has that either) but it's (in)famous for merging pop performance with theater and technology in Vegas. It's the perfect show to compare Enigma to. I'm surprised it's not brought up more these days on this forum.
