I just listened to Lotus for the first time, twice today.

Not as good as Bionic, which had a lot of weird personality and sonic diversity. I found none of the song really standing out besides Your Body and the duets with fellow Voice judges.

I agree. I used to think Bionic was just a sloppy album but now that I compare it to Lotus, it's WAY superior. Songs like Birds of Prey, Little Dreamer, Glam, Prima Donna, Elastic Love, NMT and Woohoo sound way better than the "pop tracks" on Lotus. Even the ballads (Lift Me Up, Stronger Than Ever, You Lost Me and I Am) are way better than the entire album.

I guess the only songs I'd listen to are Blank Page and Sing For Me. I kind of like Circles, Army of Me, Lotus Intro and Just A Fool but I wouldn't listen to those if they weren't sung by Christina.

Your Body and Let There Be Love would've saved the album if they did a good promo, but it seems like they don't care anymore.

She needs a make over.

Bionic wasn't even good. What gave it the minor "weirdness" that it had was the fact that she collaborated with Ladytron on Birds of Prey and Peaches on My Girls. Everything else was pretty much generic 2010 pop nothingness. The whole fembot-pop thing was huge that year and done much better than her attempt with Bionic.

That being said, the fact that she did collab with Ladytron and Peaches makes it a better album than Lotus. Lotus is just dull current day generic pop.

I wish she'd do something like "Back To Basics" again. Not necessarily the whole "Marilyn Monroe" thing (that's been done to death and I never want to hear of another pop star "reviving" Marilyn), but just... I don't know. She felt very comfortable in that era. Ain't No Other Man, Candyman, Hurt... and the non-single tracks were great, too. It was an album where her vocals really shone, and that's her strong point. "Stripped," from what I've heard of it, is pretty good too, but I'll always have a soft spot for "Back to Basics."

She should have made more of Just a fool, Or released Blank Page as a Christmas single, it is flawless, let there be love could be good for this summer but who knows

Back to Basics was her peak. She was so confident, happy, and everything back then, and her voice was as good as it can get for Christina.

However, Stripped is my favorite album by her and era. She was FLAWLESS. She needs to have this energy and enjoy herself in her performances like she used to.

Bionic takes the arrogant, proud, b---hy, overs-xed diva to a point of virtual self-parody. You might laugh at songs like Vanity and smile at Sex for Breakfast, but it's certainly not generic. Not Myself Tonight video was trying to outs-xshock Madonna and the Dirrty era., and the song didn't sound like any other current hit.

I completely disagree.

it's because she was married to Jordan Bratman at that time. she looked like such a happy person full of energy in the beginning of her marriage and then the drama of her personal life came in the Bionic era. the divorce really took a toll on her :(

Back to Basics era was her best era because:

- the music was amazing and her voice was perfect.

- She was beautiful with the Marilyn look and she didn't look like a wh.ore.

- her music videos were iconic (Candyman)

:legend:

Don't know why everyone thinks Stripped was her best era. She was trying hard to outdo Britney and to look like a black woman but she looked like a wh.ore. :eww:
