When Gaga said she didn’t like selling perfumes

Personally I don’t think she was generlazing the entire idea of making a perfume when she made that statement. Because after all, she gave her all in the creation and release of FAME. So i think she started to have that feeling towards fragrances around the Eau De Gaga era, because that’s the time she was RUSHED. They made her create another perfume just for its sake, for money, and didn’t giver her enough time to execute everything. From the notes of the perfume, packaging, to the visuals. We know damn well Gaga is capable of more than that.

If she was given enough time to create another fragrance, she would’ve still had passion for it.

If Gaga’s problem about it gravitates towards the fact that perfumes are superficial and shallow.mp3 to her existence. I don’t think that’s the case at all. Because whatever she releases as long as she feels like she put hardwork and art into it, and is given enough time, it’s going to make her happy. Hence...

I think EDG was created because she was obligated to create it and Troy got some of the royalties.  I'm sure she didn't like that, so I don't blame her for half-assing the promo etc.  If Gaga has a problem creating superficial products, then creating Haus Beauty is a poor way of showing it.

but are perfumes and make-up products mutually exclusive though? she only uses the former probably a few times before going out or going on stage, while she gets her make-up done literally for at least thirty minutes to an hour every single day. She doesn't have a perfume artist by her side.

She didn't like it because she was pretty much forced to do it for the money. If she releases that haus beauty project, it's gonna be because she actually wants it

She's not making the Haus Beauty make-up for herself.  She's creating it for the general public to purchase as she did with the perfumes.

I agree. I dunno why fans don't get this. She wasn't saying she doesn't ever want to sell a product. She was saying she doesn't want to be MADE to sell a product like some capitalist machine. She started to say "No" to the things she doesn't want to do.

It was evident her first perfume was a passion, it was in the works for years! Whereas she completely ignored EDG because she didn't want to do it. 

As for Haus Beauty - again it's something she must WANT to do, not being forced to do. I don't know why fans call hypocrisy all the time tbh.

True, but it's obvious that FAME didn't make her happy. Maybe it's just because she was in a bad period and that her sadness had nothing to do with the fragrance, but she was high all the time during that era; she didn't do one interview sober, plus she was starting to get a lot of fillers, last time she even said that it was an addiction

Yeah she spoke about this on Howard Stern and said she was going through a lot in her personal life and career. She said she was smoking a lot of weed and even Tony (i think) expressed concern in her cosmetic surgeries HOWEVER that doesn't mean she didn't want to do the perfume or it didn't make her happy. Otherwise we could say the same thing about every Gaga project over those few years. 

I think her talk at Harvard was more referencing Troy and how celebs are forced to sell products etc - not necessarily saying she hates selling any kind of product.

Gaga wasn't high 24/7 during C2C, Joanne or ASIB though. But she was during FAME and ARTPOP. Do you remember when she couldn't even smile at some point during Applause ? She was botoxed as ****, which could have been OK if it wasn't an addiction… I don't think it ever happened since then. Or maybe more or less during FF2

What i’m trying to say is she spends so much time getting her make-up done (both sarah and gaga obsessing over the products and the results on ig as well) than putting on a few sprays of perfume everyday, so in a way, selling make-up makes more sense for her than perfumes.

I’d she doesn’t half ass hausbeauty and shows that she actually cares about the products and the line then I won’t have a problem with it. 

Look at Rihanna. She’s put her all into her beauty and clothing line these past few years and it shows. I just want that kind of determination when it comes to HB.
