I don’t see her making it all the way but I’m glad she’s running!

Also the notion that Biden would make a good candidate is laughable. His voting record is horrible and no democrat I know takes him seriously.

Where did the idea that centrism is the way spring up? Neoliberals like Clinton and Obama are the reason the white working class don’t trust Democrats :triggered:

We need candidates who have the right policy positions that benefit the middle class... not a superficial, ideologically “middleground” stance.

But if we want to talk right vs. left - the further right you are, the more pro-corporation you are. The more left you are, the more pro-middle class you are.

BE PRO-MIDDLE CLASS. Being a centrist just means you go in with half measures, which end up being watered down right-wing measures in the end.

And for the people attempting to coronate Biden, you should all be aware of the fact that he:

1) Actively worked to turn the Democratic party against racial integration back in the 70's. (https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2015/08/joe-biden-integration-school-busing-120968) He also recently waxed nostalgic for a time when Democrats could hang out and be friendly with literal segregationists back then when Congress wasn't in session. (https://www.currentaffairs.org/2017/10/dont-become-nostalgic-for-things-that-were-actually-awful) His record on race is absolutely abysmal.

2) Helped smear Anita Hill when she endured death threats to publicly accuse Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment (https://www.politico.com/story/2018/09/21/joe-biden-anita-hill-kavanaugh-833598) and there have been rumors of his own problems with women for years (https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/joe-biden-2020-harvey-weinstein_us_5a0a0ba8e4b00a6eece3a13e). His record on issues that pertain to women is abysmal.

3) Recently trashed millennials (https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/mbpxx8/biden-trashes-millennials-in-his-quest-to-become-even-less-likable) and essentially told them to stop complaining about the mountains of student loan debt and economic strife that he handcuffed them to by working to end bankruptcy protections for students (https://www.ibtimes.com/joe-biden-backed-bills-make-it-harder-americans-reduce-their-student-debt-2094664). There have recently been several viral tweets about this sort of thing too, so the public is becoming more aware of his awful record on issues that pertain to young people.

4) He voted for the Iraq war.

5) He voted to repeal the Glass Steagall act that allowed bankers to gamble with their depositor's money, a disaster that helped crash the economy in 2008.

6) He wrote the bill that ended up becoming the Patriot Act and then voted for the Patriot Act, which gave the government the power to tap our phones and read our emails and text messages as well as allowed the government to throw people in detention centers indefinitely, imprisoning people without a trial for as long as the government wants. (https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/andrewkaczynski/surveillance-joe_)

7) Voted against gay marriage (when he voted for DOMA) in 1996.

8) Maybe worst of all, actually wrote that infamous 1994 crime bill that helped create a prison industrial complex and a mass incarceration crisis the likes of which the world has literally never seen before, where millions and millions of black and brown people are imprisoned for minor charges, including non-violent drug offenses. Biden has the worst record of any Democrat currently considering a presidential run in 2020. He's run for president two times prior and dropped out early on in the primaries, despite being popular before he ran because his record is awful and he can't go five seconds without making an embarrassing gaffe. He's the last person on earth we should be running.

Lion Heart

She already ended herself with her whole Native American DNA testing nonsense that backfired completely. She made the mistake of stepping into Trump's trap and now she's paying the price. Another issue is she comes across as an "elitist liberal", the same ones that conservatives claim have abandoned the middle class, and now that she's trying to come across as "relate-able" (drinking beer on IG live), it's really cringe-worthy to watch. She has really fallen as a serious Presidential contender and I am just not excited about her at all.

I am not excited about the prospect of a Biden run either as his voting record is pretty terrible and will not excite young millenials the way Bernie did back in the 2016 primaries. I see him as a repeat of Hillary's campaign, except the media will focus on him being a 'creep' on stage and that will not be a good look for him at all.

I want to see Kamala Harris, Beto O'rourke, Stacey Abrams, and Andrew Gillum give it a shot. 3 of them may have lost closely watched races, but I feel like they have what it takes to excite the Democrat base.
